Too Passive?

edited August 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Should I have c-bet this, or at least bet the turn when I picked up the OESD? Or am I ok to be playing virtually completely for set-mining purposes and c/f if 2 overs come.

    probably bet turn

bit difficult when u raise pre and overs hit flop - by betting flop your bluffing with little backdoor equity

don't mind betting turn though with extra equity

I would c-bet this flop. If he has a better made-hand or a draw he's almost certain to give you an honest answer at this level. If he's sat on a draw then his hand likely has decent equity against us anyway. If he has nothing he'll fold. I'm not concerned about getting value out of my 99 here, I just want to protect my hand. C-bet half-pot, or whatever you usually bet, and see if you take it down.

If you get the call on the flop it's going to be pretty easy to play the turn and river anyway. The danger cards are obvious and I wouldn't put another penny in unless it comes blank-blank and I face only a small bet on the river.
