Last player to act checks the stone cold nuts

edited August 2012 in The Poker Clinic
So player 1 raises pre and player 2 calls. They get to the river with a few bets exchanged and then player 1 is 1st to act & checks then players 2 is last to act and checks the nuts. Ive asked both players if they no each other but no reply. Is this not cheating??

It's hard to say, if it's online then there's not much you can do about it, and there are some cases where it can be simple ignorance and not realising that they have the nuts.

If it was live then you can be in trouble, depends on the casino rules about what happens I guess though.

I did think that but they re-raised the flop with the draw then bet the turn and checked when they hit on river, makes no sense

We've all done it: Misread our hand or misclicked and then screamed at ourselves. Maybe they were a noob and didn't know that a flush beats a straight, etc...

One hand doesn't prove anything. I checked back the nuts a couple of weeks ago because I hadn't noticed I had the flush and thought I had second pair. It happens.

ive had a player checked quads behind me when they were last to act, quads being the nuts in that hand. i certainly didnt know them. there could be a variety of reasons why someone does this, collusion is 1 but theres a lot more other valid reasons
