Anyway; I don't like limping pre-flop, especially if you're the first to do so. I'm sure others will say things are different in DYM's but ultimately you're still allowing other people to set the price and not giving yourself a chance to take the pot down pre-flop or by c-betting. You might get to see a cheap flop multi-way with a small pair, which seems like what you want, but it's much more unlikely that people will put a large part of their stack in the middle in a limped pot. The logic that the more people in the hand, the more likely you are to get paid seems like flawed logic in limped pots.

You need two unlikely things to happen in the same hand in order to bust someone holding a rag hand:
i) You need to hit your set which happens roughly 1/8 times.
ii) You need an opponent with a raggy K6 hand to hit two pair which happens roughly 1/50 times (I think).

Even if you have three opponents to a flop, that combination of events isn't going to happen very often. What happens far more often if you raise is that you get a caller with a KJ, JT, etc. type hand, who then puts a significant amount in with a top-pair against your set, they fold on the flop to your c-bet when they miss or they all fold pre-flop and you take down the blinds.

I just don't think there's an argument for limping with these small-pairs. You want to set-mine with them but you can do that with a raise.

Maybe someone will make a compelling argument in opposition to this. I'm eager to hear it.
