NL8 line check + ideas for play on river

edited September 2012 in The Poker Clinic

Limited Reads - Standard loose passive reg 2/3 tabling this level (I've only played this level for 10 days or so). Not played any big pots with villain that I can remember.

I would have folded pre to any decent 3b size, but 2bb more I'm not folding.

Thoughts on my line? Very weak cbet by villain so I try to take it down by raising. My plan was to barrel most turns. Is flatting flop better because of the price offered?

As I said, the plan was to barrel all turns, although this is prob a rubbish card to barrel, but I should be able to get two overcards to fold. Maybe turn sizing could have been bigger?

If we miss river, should I give up now?

i dont mind the peel pre as you say its a terrible 3bet size by villian. semi bluff raise flop is okish i prefer this play from position as its so hard to play a draw oop. If you barrel the river what do you think that you are representing? a set? is opponant clued in enough to realise he could be beat. You could possibly shove anything else i think is being snapped and a shove could be spewy i think its is time to give up tbh

I think open folding pre prob better at 8nl, I'd call 3b once u open though

Flat flop imo, getting good odds and doubt he folds enough to a raise

Check turn and hope he checks back

C/f river if you miss, jam if u hit
