8NL - OP + 3rd NFD

edited October 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Evening all,

Am I right to bet the turn here? I still think I'm likely to be ahead and am counting spades are likely outs (not definite though).

Hated river, was glad he checked it back!

Meh, turn is pretty thin imo, hard for worse to call

from a hand reading point vs genral player pool theres a few key points in the hand i think....

pre flop the villain jus flats our 3bet, so id remove AA, KK and AK from his range..
in genral id assign pairs and stong Ax hands to call pre maybe KQ and SC depending how loose they call..
but having the Qs in our hand takes away more combinations of hands he can have that beat us on turn, so i would carry on value betting the turn, the range of hands that he can have that now beat us on turn is very small imo.

Once again, player dependant. If you think he is calling you pre with a wide range then I would bet turn. The problem is his Asx hands now picked up top pair.

Problem with checking is that you are oop and what do you do if he bets? You are probably never folding so better to bet yourself.
