Have I lost the minimum?

edited October 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Big hand for me here in the 6k Open tonight. Have I got off this losing the minimum or should I even be calling on the end? Player has played tight throughout so I'm pretty sure he's not calling off pre with junk. I have to put him on AK or AQ.

If I'm reading the HH right, you have KK and only 13xBB. IMO in an MTT if you have 13xBB with KK and don't get it in, you've made a mistake. I think with your stack you should have just 3bet jammed pre.

20xBB I think so shoving might lose value, but why didn't the villain 4bet shove? could be slow playing AA and is waiting for the c-bet, but could be a lot wider - any reads on the player so far?

an A on the flop - are you scared of it - your play says yes, so why call the turn bet? Fold or shove. Calling just gives him the confidence to shove the river.

    Sorry yeah I was looking at 6.5k @ 250/500 but that's after he's already put in 3.5k.

I definitely c-bet though. I think if you don't bet it's clear you don't have an Ace.

The player has played fairly tight, think this was the first pot he raised UTG. Looking back on it now he could easily have had QQ but at the time I was thinking AK AQ. Yes I was scared of the Ace, I was jamming 100% the flop if it came without the A. Taken all your points on board, I know I haven't played it great.

You have to bet this flop regardless, by checking back he knows you have no ace.
