Sick & Tired

edited December 2009 in Area 51
I am a heavy user of SkyPoker and I have come to the conclusion that I am becomming extremely sick and tired of bad beats and the very predictable world famous SkyRiver!

I have heard it all before about variations etc... and it is starting to bore me to tears.

I play on other sites and I must admit to prefering Sky's simple layout but it's just so very predictable that combined with pathetic calls by loose players/fish on this site, that it's quickly becomming a joke!

I would like to class myself as a middle of the road player, can hold my own against the best and the worst out there but am finding it near on impossible to get a decent game of poker on the site - it to me seems like a crazed bingo hall more often than not, or the newbies treating poker more like a game of snap.

I wouldn't go as far as saying the hands are rigged, but how many of you out there have been low on chips, gone all in with a decent hand and got beat up by rubbish - it happens FAR too often for my liking, to which has made me write this post and obviously beginning to think that some hands are rigged to get the lower stacked players out sooner rather than later. Has anyone else noticed on frequent occasions the long pause on the river?? And if I hear Tikay say one more time that this is to keep players on edge, I'm gonna cry!

We all have our good run of luck and obviously bad runs, this isn't about me on a bad run and complaining as I'm actually nicely up on the day, but it is happening way too much and I personally think that Sky is starting to shoot itself in the foot with what I am reading in the chatboxes in the rooms - everybody is complaining.

I can't help but think the regualr users of this site are going to deflect sooner rather than later.

I think Sky should rename it "SkySnap" rather than poker, as they already have a bingo link!

A LOT OF THE MTTS ON HERE ARE FAST FORMATS SO UNFORTUNATLY MANY HANDS END UP AS COIN TOSSES HAVE YOU TRIED ANY OF THE DEEPSTACKS THE BUY INS START AT £2 AND THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU NEED TO PUT IN TO CASH PUTS OFF MOST OF THE BINGO/SNAP PLAYERS

    Thanks for your advice BADBOY985

I will have a look into a deepstack to try and keep the possibilities of getting nipped by fish and bad beats to a minimum!

oynutter, yes I read your thread - glad I am not the only that finds myself constantly let down by this site!!

It did help me mate - and it is making me reconsider if I realy want to part with my hard earnt cash on this rubbish!!

For me it kind of takes the fun out of poker, I am no way a bad loser and will be the first to congratulate a fellow player who wins with a decent hand or has played it cagey, but when you get toppled by the so called bad beats and bingo players, tell me where is the fun in that?? thats not skill, thats a game of snap that my 6 year old can play and do!!

Seriously thinking about calling it a day with Sky for the above reasons. I like the site but can't class what Sky offers as poker anymore!

As I say, it's far from a losing grumpy moan, I am actually up on the day but continuing to see what has been mentioned in your thread and what others are bellowing out about the site - I can surely win or lose my money on a proper poker site rather than one that resembles bingo!!

Do you think anyone with any poke in the Sky boardrooms will take notice of what us loyal players are saying?? or do you think they like to encourage the mediocre fish who likes to lose his money!! hmmmmm I wonder!!

    TWO FAT LADIES!!

Pocket twos?...all in!! (thats what we call the nutz in area51)

As badboy said you need to enter a deepstack before you start saying the site is rigged and even in them we all gonna suffer bad beats, i dont know what games your playing or at what buy-ins but you are going to get people gambling with anything on scary/speed or small cash tables, not everyone on the site is here to play "proper" poker some people just fancy a gamble or feel lucky

And yes i do like to gamble and always feel lucky!

hiya sunny--glad you liked the bingo thread---there are good games here too though, honest!--the ten seater orfe deep stacks always have 90% good players, as do most of the deepies. Also, bingo players are actually good news for us in the long term, and although they can often be very annoying, they are where our profit comes from. I hope you reconsider and give sky a good go, because imo it is a fantastic site, with a great community spirit. Once you have played here for a good while and built up your notes on players, you will find that bingdongs are great to have around in the long term.
hope to see you in the deepies mate---floppa whoppa!

    Hi Sunny,

Err, what exactly do you want the guys in the Suits to do? Serious question? They cannot alter the rules of poker, or fix the deck! Poker here is EXACTLY the same as anywhere else. There is not a shred of (coherent) evidence to the contrary.

PS - OK, I won't mention the "pause", if you don't suggest "it's to give the software time so it can find a card to beat the guy they don't like"............

Where do you live Sunny, if I may ask?

Tikay you know your banned from area 51.

Did you think you could sneak in late at night and no one would notice.

Only nutters, whingers, donkeys and followers of the dark lord are allowed here!

Hi Tikay, Hope evrything is alright with you.

I just fancied a whinge after suffering a series of bad beats - like I have today!! *Bangs Head*

I stayed off the site for a day and come back to continous bad beats - nothings changed their then!! :) (whinge over, promise!)

I'm an English Guy origionally from London (Elephant & Castle) now living over on the Greek Island of Kos. I moved over here 5 years ago after selling my Scaffolding Business and thinking to myself - time to get out of this mad place!! Never looked back and never coming back if I can help it mate!!

Not much live action on the Island, you have to go to Rhodes to play in a Casino if you want "Real Life" poker, so Sky does come in handy.

Promise not too mention the                                         long                        p  a  u  s  e  ever again!
