A few people had mentioned they would like to see a league table showing overall performance across all UKOPS events so I've had a go at putting something together that I hope reflects this.
To try and iron out the disparity in buyins and bank rolls, I've based the scoring system on the percentage of the total tournament field beaten in making the cash for each of the 3 nightly UKOPS events (Main, Mini and Side), rather than basing it on total money won, which (as well as being a bit crass) wouldn't truly reflect the efforts of the lower bankroll players overcoming a 700+ strong field to cash in the minis. So effectively, a maximum of 100 points is available (1st place) for each event. For example in a 100 runner field points would be awarded:
I accept the scoring system is 'slightly' weighted in favour of those playing the minis (which tend to have the biggest fields) as in some cases a 10th place in the mini will score as many points as 2nd in the side event, but I felt this the fairest way to provide a level playing field for the smaller bank roll players as it's based on the number of players beaten rather than money won. Plus the bigger rolled players are likely to play more events over the course of the week simply on the basis that they can afford to so hopefully like variance it will even out over time.
Anyway, below is the league so far, I'll try to update it every day once the results are in.
The complete spreadsheet is way too big to fit on here, but I might Google doc. it later and link it if anyone is interested in seeing it.
Quick question.... on my spreadsheet I have another comlumn for total value of cashes, would people like to see it on here too or is it too crass to talk about money
It would seem sensible to add a column showing actual value of cashes. it's not as if this info isn't already publicly available anyway and will help to consolidate everything.
Personally........no, I would not include money if this spready includes ALL UKOPS players.
Why so?
Because it disadvantages the smaller 'rolled players. They could win 3 or 4 Mini's & still not be Top Ten in the Spready.
Your original idea seems fairer, & gives ALL players a chance to feature at or near the top. If money is the criteria, only the bigger players will be at the top.
It just feels better that way, & everyone has a fair crack of the whip.
I guess you could include money if it does not alter the "rankings". In other words, the player who wins most money is NOT top of your Spready. The guy who gets most points deserves that, in the spirit of this.

It's a seperate column, I would still order the league by points scored rather than amount cashed, the running order above would not change, for me that was the whole point of doing the league this way - so that smaller BR's are not disadvantaged. Will wait for a few more comments before deciding.
Also a quick nod to GaryQQQ for his excellent Tournament results thread HERE it's made compiling this league a whole lot easier than it would be otherwise.
I think its fine to show cashes as long as it doesnt effect the league. I might be being really thick here but do you get more points for beating a field of 400 than 60 or do you just get the 100 points?

1st place will always be 100 points
Field size will only affect positions below this as for example 10th place in a 400 strong field equates to beating 97.5% of the competition, whereas 10th in a 60 strong field equates to beating 83.33% of the competition.
The Mini & Main Idea is good, does it make it alot more work!! I cashed ukops 1 & Bubbled side1 9th gutted!! Posted by HITMAN_RV
Now the spreadsheet is set it I can get it to report whaterver I like, but the idea was to show the players that have performed best over the entire UKOPS series, which is also why I scored it in this way rather than on cash as it gives the smaller bank roll players a chance to compete.
I'm going to leave it as it is for now and maybe at the end I'll break it down into Main / Mini / Side events depending on how much sleep I have between then and now
League now updated after Day 4 results, as we're half way through I have also added total cash values as a comparrison to the points total. I will also do this at the end of the 8 days.
In Response to Re: Unofficial UKOPS League : 7 cashes from 12 tournaments, not too shabby! Posted by Slykllist
I see you have now included a cashed amount total. Can you not add a 'out of' total amount too?
I understand this league is totally unofficial but those who can/will play more events will obv have a better chance of cashing than those who have to use the sat route and therefore will not enter as many as others. I hope this makes sense.

Short answer..... NO!
I'm only logging results of those that cashed, not everyone who played
There can be absolutley no doubt who's at the top of the pile, RUNITSRANN is absolutely crushing it having cashed in 9 of the 15 events so far, chapeau to that man!

RUNITSRANN is flying! I noticed you took the £ earned out too - deliberate or cut and paste carnage?

Deliberate, I'll put it back on at the end of the league, but the total amount of all the cashes in the league is.......
League updated with results from day 6 and as RUNITSRANN didn't play last night, Barrie26 has been able to close the gap at the top of the table slightlt with another cas in the side event yesterday.
League updated after day 7's results. The list is now up to 478 individual players who have cashed in at least one UKOPS event, I've cutoff the list on here at 400 as it's starting to get a bit big now!
With a min cash in the Side event last night, RUNITRANN managed to extend his lead at the top, increasing his number of cashes in the UKOPS series to 10.

It's already getting to be a big list so I might have to start limiting what I post on here to the top 200 or something, will see how it goes.
It's beginning to become quite alot of data to manage already, so if anyone spots mistake please let me know so I can get them put right ASAP.
