AK early in FO Tournament

edited November 2012 in The Poker Clinic
This is a £5 £250 guaranteed tournament. Villian has called a short stack shove on flop with fd and has limp-called pre more than once, only hand that went to showdown he had j6 and played passively on flop and turn- made straight on river

In a field where I THINK  I have an edge on the field, should I generally play more cautiously in a spot like this?

Yeah I don't see any need to be so aggressive here post flop, would look to shut down after my c-bet calls and not put any more in unless my own hand improves some.

Can see villain calling with any pocket pair or board pair here on the flop, and then feeling obliged to go with it when no picture card comes on the turn... assuming it is like some of the early doors crap-shoots I've seen in the small number of low-stakes tournaments I've been involved in.

Definitely better spots to gamble your money in - especially if you feel you are above average in the field.
