Sit and go you pay a set amount to play the game, you get a set amount of chips and keep playing til someone has them all and generally pay the top 2 or 3 people

Cash you sit down with actual cash, you can top up and get more money whenever you want (not in the middle of a hand), so you stand to win/lose alot more in cash.

With a SnG you pay your £2.20 or whatver and know you can't lose any more than that

Sit & Go's everyone pays the same amount for a certain amount of chips & the winner is the person who collects all the chips (probably best way to learn the game for a newbie)

In cash, you're sat at the table with 'real money' & you can sit down/stand up whenever you want, & the blinds will always remain the same.

sit and go's - here you will pay a set price for x amount of chips which creates a prizepool. there is increasing blind levels and it is played out til some one has all the chips (unless its a double your money) and there is a prizepool divided between 1st 2nd etc

cash- you sit at a table with real money in front of you. blinds dont increase and every pot has is worth money not chips. you can sit and stand when you wish. the house takes a fee from every pot that sees a flop and there is no end to them. they carry on as long as players have money in front of them.

It can be very Daunting getting to grips with what's what until you get the hang of it so ask away & i hope you enjoy your Poker & Forum Experience here, also GL at the tables whatever you are playing

    Welcome to the Community!

As you can tell, we're a friendly lot. No question too daft for us, either. Just don't ask Tikay about post boxes or bridges. You've been warned :P

Now, to a question for you: which one did you end up playing? :)
