In the $10 satellite into the $10,300 PCA (pokerstars caribbean adventure) main event in the Bahamas in January.
10,552 entrants, it's been running for 9 hours 12 minutes, top 10 get a $15,000 package and there's currently 12 remaining. Greg is 8/12 but the bottom 4 are all v.close and it really could go to anyone.
10552 runners... $11 dollar entry... but i got in for 10 FPPS
Top 10 got a prize worth $17k
11th got nothing... not even a sausage lol
I got 11th...
It didnt cost me anything, i got lucky to get that far flopping broadway with QJ against AA for example earlier on, but was soooooooooo close to a seat..
Never mind, not meant to be this time... Huge thanks to anyone who railed... Onwards and upwards, will try again.
Coulda been a dream holiday to Nassau, but nah, it's Luton SPT next... i promise to be over this by then and not mention it once... ok
P.S, Maxally, if you ever mention that you bubbled another £2.20 deepstack again, ill throttle u
I feel your pain, I have managed 2 top 100 finishes in it! I got rivered to get knocked out in about 30th in a pot that would have given me a top 5 stack.
Its such a brutal comp given the entry fee and prize on offer...hopefully we can both get in next week!
Ouch, vul Greg, super-impressive to see you get so close and I'm pleased to see you taking the best possble attitude to such an agonisingly close miss.
In poker we have to take the rough with the smooth. I have won a big package to vegas in the past, this time it wasn't my turn...
This bubble is a bit unusual, but its not necessarily a bad thing.
The positives are that it will inspire me to improve my game and become consistent and disciplined. Throughout that satellite i played well, and solid, with no fancy moves. I kept it simple and this was the key to going so deep. Also in the latter stages with about 60 left and 10 seats, i was able to use all my experience to play strongly to give me a shot. But as the blinds went through the roof it became rather tense, wasnt to be this time!
So no regrets, I can only use this disappointment to spur me on, and it will #watchthisspace

Gregors this was vul mate and would have crushed a lot of players - but like you said, the loss may well be more valuable to you than the win in the long run matey.
Stand up tall bruvvaaa and let's run well at Lutonnn!!

It seems your game has improved a lot in the last year. Coming 11th out of 10k + runners is a huge acheivment and to just miss out really sucks. This would tilt a lot of ppl but hope you take the positives like you said and GL for the future
Jeez, very nasty Greg, glad your taking it about as well as you possibly could But jeez, hurts thinking about it, chin up, sure something like this will go for you sometime soon
