edited November 2012 in The Poker Clinic
Hi,

I have started playing a few Omaha Hi-Lo SnGs and enjoying them quite a bit however i am struggling to get my head around the low hands.  Can someone please explain why i didnt get the lo award for the hand below. I thought that A2 was the best low but i didnt win. puzzled.

as with the HI when competing for the low you have to use 2 cards from your hand and 3 from the board. In this case you are playing 26 from your hand and A57 from the board the opponant is playing 34 from his hand and a5 from the board. His low goes to 5 and your goes to 7 so his is lower. Hope this makes sense

Your almost right jams88 but they both have 7 low, he wins because it goes by the next lowest card and if thats the same then it goes to the next lowest.

So arfur low hand is A3457 and d96rnwe is A2567 as you can see the next lowest card after the 7 is 6 for d96rnwe and 5 for arfur and this is why arfur won.

    Hope this clears things up
