i put my opponent on a pair and thought i was behind. But as far as i knew i had four 7's, four q's and an over card and 9 cards to make a flush. will that ever be a good call? i shoved on the turn as my oppoent bet so much that i wouldnt have any fold equity, so my decision was either shove or fold. looking back at the hand i feel that i should of re-raised the flop. 

Please be brutally honest with this hand, i want to learn.

IDK - I play the next level down from here and I'm not sure I'd expect to see just a pair in this situation, think the weakest I'd expect to see turned over would be JT that figured it may be ahead and still had semi-bluff outs itself for a river Q or 7.

More often I'd side with someone having made a set, would seem to make sense for a call out of the blinds, then want to make it too expensive for someone chasing a flush or straight / would still have outs if the board pairs.

That or the possible straights out there, I'm not sure I'd be counting on hitting an ace as good, would see my straight draw as possibly being only to a split and therefore needing a non-paired club on the river to win.

With that reduced number of outs, figure it to be a fold on the turn as the pot odds decrease accordingly and make it (just about?) mathematically incorrect to call - but I acknowledge that I play at the tighter end of the spectrum.

Guess the only difference to play earlier in the hand may have been a re-raise semi-bluff on the flop against a fairly weak lead.  This may have given you a better answer about the strength of other hands and reduced the size of loss on later streets?
