Looking to upgrade

I'm currently using an eight or nine year old Dell desktop which has been running incredibly slowly for the last year or so, and a three year old Samsung netbook which used to run two tables comfortably but which has become increasingly temperamental.  Incidentally for the last two years the 'l' and '9' key haven't worked, along with a couple others.  

I want to get a new laptop but what specifications should I be considering for playing up to 6 tables on Sky?  RAM?  Hard drive?  I have no idea. 

Any help would be appreciated.

It's a pretty basic Toshiba laptop, wasn't anything fancy anyway, paid a little under £300 for it maybe 18 months ago and it can easily handle 6 tables (on Sky).

I'm looking for a new PC too.  Need something that could handle 16-20 tables,  I have no idea what I need though.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Lambert's is an Intel i3 processor, if you buy pretty much any Intel i5 processor laptop you'll be fine.  It's the screen resolution I'd be concerned with, the bigger the better.

1366 x 768 common but not great
1600 x 900 better
1920 x 1080 expensive and probably on useful on larger 17"+ laptops

Reading through your month grind thread sounds like you need something fairly substantial.  I'd ask beaneh what his setup is and pretty much replicate that.
