2 day on line mtt

Would be good to see a 2 day online mtt over Xmas a deep stack event with say 25k stack with 30 min levels, maybe £110-£220 buy in, over Xmas maybe?

Do you think this would work guys?

I don't think it would work very well. Obviously on the other site, two day events work because there are tens of thousands of runners which would be impossible on Sky.

The only way to make up for the low number of runners on Sky would be, as you suggest, to start with super-deepstacks and a long clock. The problem is that starting with perhaps 800BB or more would be a recipe for tedium, where optimal strategy would dictate that getting it all-in with even the second nuts would be a mistake. Every single player that knows what they're doing would be simply waiting for the blinds to go up considerably, while they all try to divide the weaker players stacks out amongst themselves.

im not sure how successful it would be dragging out a 100-150 player tournament into a 2 day event. 

having said that if there was a big guarantee and enough players etc id almost certainly play if i had the 2 days free

there's just no point in doing this. Player pool isn't big enough atm, and without ante's it'll be zzzz imo

Slightly amending your idea might be good. Big buy in, deep stacks but start lunchtime/early afternoon. The trouble you get with a tournament like this being on sky at the mo is the lack of antes.

Yeah totally agree matt,

Bring antes into play ftw, makes mtt play much more fun and gets the nits to play more hands lol

yada yada stop being horrible beaneh.

under the assumption of using the normal 'smooth' structures, this starting stack/blind length would result in a tournament that didn't even end, 2 dayer would turn into a 2 weeker. 

I have nothing against people wanting faster/shorter/worse/better structures but guesswork doesn't create a good structure.

Ask for what you want, and then hope sky can choose a setup that provides what you want. otherwise we just go round in circles with people picking bigger and bigger numbers out of the air.
