have i played this bad dohhhh said post it so i am i was thinking i didnt wanna just call the raise on the flop as there alot of bad turn cards for jen to barrel of and i could end up calling down and lose more money where as i raised to take it down there n then n saves me money in the long run thoughts please ? Why are you re-raising? Are you raising for value or turning your hand into a bluff?

When you re-raise her re-raise you are completely opening yourself up to get owned. Your never gonna really get played back at with worse and your just gonna fold out the bluffs she has.

Also there are not loads of bad cards on the turn. A 7 or 8 improves your hand and any diamond, 5 or 6 improves your equity.

Well, what range are you giving Ms. Mason for making the flop raise? I've never played her but against most good players I'd be thinking that she's not likely to raise one-pair hands too often and two pairs including an 8 are unlikely. So I'm thinking it's 34, 33, 44, possibly 88 (though that might have been 3-bet pre-flop) and bluffs. If she's holding a bluff or semi-bluff, we don't want to force her to fold and if she has a big hand we don't want to raise because she's not going to fold. How often is she going to bluff here? I don't know.

I think calling the flop then reassessing on the turn and river is best. It's not easy to make money out of position to good players and we might just have to call Jen down here if we think she could be bluffing alot. If we think she's pretty tight, then maybe we should just fold the flop. I'd probably have left the table rather than play with Jen on my left, though. lol

Shes never ever bluffing here she has practically written in the chat box i have a set. There is no draws out there unless she has 56 but she isnt going to have that as when you have came over the top shes reraised you again. The board is so dry so she could have raised this kind of flop thinking you would fold most of the time but i think she would float in this spot instead of raise. So therefore i am calling her raise on the flop as she could be bluffing thats why i dont reraise the flop to keep her bluffs in. Then we can see if we pick up any equity on the turn and if she continues to barrell.

I'd be flatting the initial raise hoping to see a turn that improves our hand, we are given a decent price to do this imo at £3 into £10.

i know what ya saying bearly but im hating alot of turn cards what i done saves me money i think by raising i could take it down yeah im showing my good showdown hand into a bluff but i feel this is only way i can win a pot i didnt wanna face a turn bet and river bet and be put in a tricky spot

Well she obviously feels that you would only flat call her reraise with a set so therefore has took it to the next level by coming over the top. So therefore your hand is irrelavant at this point as you now have to fold as you have opened yourself up to this. I think now you have to fold with the 8 but if you had a random hand with no equity you could take it to the next level and click it back if you think she is capable of this.

I actually hadn't seen what you were saying about her "having QT" when I made my last post. I was responding to bearlyther.

I guess on this flop both your ranges should be nuts or nothing because, as I said, there's no reason for her to raise one-pair and so should only have sets/two-pair or bluffs. The same applies to your 3-bet so I guess it's possible that she's bluffing... but it's still more likely to be a set and she's telling a wee little fib.

Since you basically should never have top-pair and probably don't 3-bet a dry board with a set, from the lady's point of view I suppose it would seem entirely possible that you were bluffing. Maybe she just has a soul read on you.

If she had q10 then i think her raise on the flop is really spewy on this type of flop as shes getting opened up to being exploited against a thinking player on this board would much rather see a float with q10 on this board than a raise

with no indication of any reads on opponent it seems pretty spewy to take this line oop with top pair weak kicker.

flat flop raise, your opening yourself up to a move plus your bluffing with the best hand

If you just popping it because you don't wanna see any scare cards, then you must think your ahead - so what's the problem ?

You turning your hand into bluff should only apply if you think your behind, the fact that oppo is o so strong or weak - makes it easy to make the next move - your only raising here to get oppo to make a move -

not necessarily suggesting fold...but idcu seems so determined that calling the reraise is a bad move that folding imo is better than bloating the pot further by raising.

just to be clear i would call the raise and re evaluate the turn.
