New Tournament Payout Structures - effective immediately.

edited December 2012 in Poker Chat

Good afternoon.

The MTT payout structures have been re-vamped, & these take effect immediately.

I will give an example or two (next Post), but as a general rule.....

Minimum cash (non Bounty Hunter) will always be double the buy-in, though in some extreme & very rare cases this will be excluding Reg Fee.

Additional "ladder spots" have been introduced to alleviate the situation where, say, 120 places all paid the same.

More follows.....

Using the £6,000 Guaranteed double Stack (tonight's Main Event), this is an exact replica of last week's renewal, which got 223 runners.

The payouts last week are in the left hand column, & the new payouts (assume for purposes of clarity it has the same number of players) in the right hand column.

With such a variety of Tourney types & field sizes, "one size fits all" might not work 100% of the time, but, pretty much, ALL MTT's will now payout as per the above logic.

In special circumstances, these structures can be changed if deemed necessary to allow for exceptional circumstances or one-off specials.

You just have to cash now, to test them......

    HI T

Recently i've not been getting near the old payout ladder so i have no comment apart from "onward and upward!!!"
Seems like a good idea. A fair amount for a good T's work. Yes, I likey!!!!!

    Just as a side.

Do tourneys have to be so top heavy for first, with stacks being so shallow by the end, does not variance play a big part.

The difference between 1st and 2nd is still pretty massive imo.

    Hi Cena,

You are correct, in all Bounty Hunters because of the split pot between the heads / prize pool, the minimum payout if you cash will always be the buy-in, e.g. in a £10 BH, the minimum prize payout will be at least £10.

    Kind regards,

    Bernie

I am assuming (apologies if I am incorrect) that the minimum payout from the PRIZE POOL will be the buy-in, then the value of any heads taken will be in addition to that.

    Payout structure is based on:

(aussie09 finishing position - 1) / percentile of field beaten.*

    Good morning Rob.

The Xmas Radio Times? No way! I make a rule never to watch TV during Xmas, except for sport, especially the Australian Test match.

The math/maths behind the number of places that are paid?

Simple really. The way it has been calculated is that........ummm, actually, come to think of it, I don't know, as I have never asked. But I will, & I'll get back to you soonest.

In case I forget, or don't get another opportunity, I hope you & your family, especially George, have a wonderful Xmas, & that 2013 is peaceful, healthy & happy for you all.

    Hi Rob,

I promised to get back to you on this today.

I raised the question in today's Management Meeting.

I gather that (fingers crossed) by close of play tomorrow, the entire new Payout Structure, & an explanation of how it is derived, will appear on the site (SkyPoker.com), sdo that everyone can clearly see it. I will let you know when it is up.

There have been some "anomolies" discovered ("anomolies" is code for errors or omissions.....) from the new payout structure, these are being corrected now, though with so many variables involved, it may be a work-in-progress for a while yet.
