it was a mistake to not do a raise preflop.
i did the same sort of mistake with my betting of QQ did a bet 4x raise preflop but on a dry flop which had 934 i just C/minR followed by a check on the turn before going all in on the river so lost my money to a guy who had j10 to a straight J high.
so what i have started thinking is the best option with high pairs when out of position would be to be a touch more aggressive knowing that most of the time the callers will have hold of a decent pocket pair a QJ+ suited connector or AQ+unsuited

Just make it £4 then c bet that flop easy pickings, if you just flat as you have and 1 overcard comes to your hand and pre flop raiser c bets does this mean your gunna just throw it away??.

Hes making that raise from the button 99% of the time and the rest is fine.

I don't mean to have a go at you but your thought process for doing certain things in the hands you post tends to be pretty bad imo. Don't just call this time because you 'fancy' it rather than 3betting.

When considering 3 betting pre here you should be asking yourself; 

Do you want to try and get stacks in?

What range does oppo open with from this position?

How does he react to being 3bet?

How often does he 4bet and with what range?

Will he call with worse very often?

etc.

I think you should be 3 betting pre to around £6  as i think its against a random as i dont recognise the name my apologies if im incorrect against a reg calling isnt terrible but i think we should be 3 betting here for value.
