Upcoming changes to the Community forum
Hi everyone
We’ve been doing a review of the Sky Poker Community and have decided to make a few small changes soon, as detailed here:
- The first thing we are doing is to change ‘General Poker Chat’ to become just ‘Poker Chat’, the format will be the same.
- Secondly, we are removing ‘Area 51’. The main reason for this is that, as you know, we have a forum rule on Sky Poker which doesn’t permit “Comments that can be construed to question Sky Poker's integrity, game fairness, security or random number generation”. Area 51 is where people generally go to do this. Having it could almost be seen to encourage it. As you know, trust is very important to Sky Poker (and to you too). We are independently regulated and certified so calling our integrity into question can’t be allowed or encouraged. Any posts of this nature will be deleted and may result in a ban from the Community. If anyone does wish to discuss fairness, they should please contact Customer Care.
- Thirdly, ‘Bad Beats and Variance’ will remain but it is not a substitute for Area 51 and any posts questioning our integrity will be deleted accordingly.
- The last change we will be making is to recreate / rebrand ‘The Shed’ and it will now be called ‘The Rail’ which is a place for non-poker chat really. We’ll be moving over popular shed threads to this new thread.
Finally we would just like to repeat what we’ve said on previous occasions – our aim for the Sky Poker Community is for it to be a friendly, helpful place and a place where people enjoy coming to. We want it to be a place where we support and learn from each other about the game we all love, poker. These changes are designed to help this and make things clearer, especially for new visitors.
As we’ve also said previously, it's genuinely amazing to see when a new customer comes on the Community to introduce themselves or to ask for help. You all make them feel really welcome and help them out (everyone is new at some point!).

there will be those who think it is still there but just hidden from their view, but still visible to a select few. to those who might be lizards.
