I had a very simalir situation the other night and won with a 7 kicker over a 6 kicker.
You don't expect to win the hand when that happens, but it is nice when you do.

That reminds me, I did this once against 66 with 72 when the board rolled out 8-8-2-8-8. That was a live game in a pub. The guy I did it too didn't seem to appreciate the beauty of it as much as me, either.
