Review my bad play (chapters 1-3)

edited January 2013 in The Poker Clinic
Have played so much NLHE lately I've barely had time to review how things are going, try and tweak things to stop any of the bigger losses that come with the teritory.

Have removed the obvious losses (preflop AI with AA/KK/AK etc), but look forward to hearing any feedback on how I may look to improve if I find myself in these spots in the future:

Was playing NL4 because there weren't enough NL10 tables to keep me busy. Don't know anything about the oppo... only reason I checked the flop was that I got hit by lag and couldn't get a bet in on time.  I'll be honest, I thought I was facing a weaker ace and pretty much snapped called the river.  (Q1) Is my bet sizing OK? (Q2) should I assume that at NL4 its an insta-fold to an unknown suddenly moving from calling to getting aggro?

I think this is probably the most horrible of the hands I'm digging out from the latest session.  Probably just need a good slap for (nearly) going broke in an unraised pot.  What a mug.  Not sure I've played against the oppo before, certainly didn't have anything noted on them.

I donk-bet to protect against another club falling and letting a bare Ac outdraw me. Talked myself into oppo having Kx, Qx or 7x to call the bet and then (daftly) figured the turn aggression was due to them making two pair and warranted my call. Carrying that logic on, the paired river is obviously a bad card so I was happy to check and probably got lucky he didn't raise more.  (Q1) £3 is a river value bet size at that spot 100% of the time, right? (Q2) is this a spot that warranted a donk bet, or should I bet in check-call mode through the hand?

I think this was me getting overly aggressive against a loose maniac that had already stacked me twice, once fair when my KK hit their AK preflop, the other with complete junk that preflop that stacked my AA. They'd had seemed to be all in every other hand and taken stacks off several others.

(Q1) should I have been betting full pot on the flop, given the extremely loose play of the oppo? (Q2) I'm not being a complete spanner to say it's an obvious auto-call when they suddenly go nuts on the turn, right? As a loose maniac I shouldn't be waiting for a better spot, expecting to get their money one way or another?

I'm mostly gutted that the villain kept changing tables regularly so I never got enough time today to felt them lol...

1 bet flop rest is fine

2 I prefer c/r flop, turn I either 3b or fold, prob 3b readless at 10NL. As played I think river is a c/f unless he bets tiny

3 more pre, pot flop, pot turn, fistpump call shove
