Set wet board weird oppo line.

This is from last nights DTD, One of the deepstacks. My question is based on turn and river desisions here. This player hadn't been long at this table so im pretty much readless. I'm defo readless looking back at the hand as i can barley remember the outcome lol. 

I remember i called the turn for pot control, given the board is that the correct play? 

Then on the river given his line should i just check back or should i squeeze out some value.

Like turn, if your are behind u may house up and if you raise turn oppo will fold all worse

river is deffo b/c imo - if oppo checks river with hand that beats you then yeah w/e

Looks like oppo is betting turn with pr with a club

Always just calling the turn.  Half pot on the flop is fine readless.  Readless I'm probabley checking back for the following reasons.  

1 If you get shoved on you are in a world of hurt.

2 Unless they only have a very small flush or smaller set what else can they call a decent bet with?

3 Gives you a read on the oppo.  Are they betting the turn with the bare ace of clubs?  

4 If you check and are behind then you still have 40bb left.  Loads with these blind levels
