In the very early days of Sky Poker, I was only 18 myself and final tabled the then daily main event the £11 Open. I think I had satellited in as even now I don't like paying an £11 entry! This was in my early days of poker and I would definately say I am a better player now but we were down to 5, I cannot remember what chip position I was in but I was not leader. I was also playing on the TV as we only had dial up internet at the time which we paid for per minute and my Mum would only let me use it for half hour a day (due to the cost and the fact it blocked the phone line)! Playing on the TV was me going behind her back.

Anyway I was buzzing, sat in bed playing on the TV, had a couple of mates who were watching the show, this was again when the show would follow the tournament all night. I made a genuine misclick call with 22 out of the small blind after a jam in the cut off. My mates who were watching at the jam were straight on the phone asking what I was doing, I said it was a genuine misclick but obviously they didn't believe me! Anyway the jam turned over QQ, unfortunately for me the 2 never came so I bust in 5th for just under £300. I couldn't sleep for a while after this despite it being pretty late anyway. I remember withdrawing a majority of the money straight away (once it had come out of poker held funds!) and having recently passed my driving test I spent it on upgrading the sound system and stereo in my old Fiesta, just as you'd expect a typical 18 year old to do!

Definetly my favourite memory from a single tournament on Sky! I genuinely didn't come down from the high at least for a few days.

my best memory was when i 1st started playing on sky through the tv

i took down the £11 midnight game and then another £11 game straight after winning over £400...those where the good old days....

playing  sky through the tv was brilliant "LOUD APPLAUSE"

maybe sky can put together a comedy real of the funniest moments from shows.. would be good to watch

anyway happy birthday and please check your account at the end of the night as will play 10 £11dym to give you a birthday rake of £10

    here's to another 6 years

i remember playing in the nightly televised open when you used to have 3 "celeb" guests in the studio. each one of them had a prize on their head. well i played it as often as i could.

i was fortunate to be on some of their tables and i remember knocking a couple of them out of the tourney. but the best one was when i played a certain page 3 girl, i think it was Leilani Dowding, well the nxt day she was on page 3 of the sun and i took great pleasure in boasting to my mates at work that i was playing poker with her the night before. most of them didnt believe a word i said but a couple knew of the channel and the format and believed me. happy days.

    happy birthday

My favourite moment is when I was on analyse my play one Sunday last June.  what made it so special for me was that I had my girls over for the night and my eldest was up when I got the call from the show.  After about 20 seconds of talking she turned to me and said in a very loud voice "Shhh Daddy, I'm trying to listen to you on the television!" Oh and I managed to come seventh in the primo for £300, which was nice.

Apart from that, seeing Orford getting his hand caught in the desk was quality telly.

    Happy birthday

My best moment was being the "home" player during a mastercash night.

Tikay and LML were the presenters, and there was some diddy game of football going on (i think USA deserved to win).

Was playing at my sisters house, as my connection at home is always dodgy and they asked me what the score was in the football.

I swear, to this day, that i put the phone on the table before gently calling my sister, "Jeanette" ;)

My worst memory, actually i dont really remember it, was an incident at Leeds SPT

Simply summing up poker for me was a hand in a freeroll.
The guy represented a royal flush from the off
i called it all the way down and by the river even i wanted him to have it.
When he turned over the royal i think i was more excited than him!

I may never have had one myself but at least i have seen one!

my best moments was last december when a fellow sky player give me the  link to improving my poker because ever since i read what the linked web had i've been able to play poker without having to make any deposits as i basically don't  suffer such heavy losses.
i tried lots of things before that but what was differant about that one was it showed how to do best on the micro stakes and and included some play itself too.

I'm new to sky poker and to poker in general. I signed up to sky poker on the recommendation of my better half. He told me a few basics and i started playing. Loved the site and software and felt really safe with it.

Signed up to the £10k new player freeroll with no belief in myself whatsoever and just didnt want to embarass myself. 1500 people in the tournament who i imagined were all seasoned pro's sitting behind their computers in sunglasses flicking casino chips in the air and here was little me jumping up and down every time I hit a pair lol

Anyway started playing and won a few hands before I knew it someone at the table said we'd all reached the money. Was so excited to be wiinning 50p or whatever and so proud of my achievement. Then i won a few more hands and started phoning my better half "there's only 60 people left i've won a pound now", "there's only 30 left..., there's only 20 left...., I'm at the final table!!!

Anyway to end the story i ended up finishing 3rd walking away with £350 for my troubles. My husband has starting calling me "Phil" after Phil Hellmuth (a famous poker player he tells me lol)

I've told the world about it!!

this was the link he had
basically it had three steps and focused on these tables in perticular as microstakes are nothing like most tables due to the amount of loose passive and callingstations their are

I remeber when you was running a football freeroll. (was in2009/2012 i believe)I think it was when England was playing. Top 6 got prizes. 1st was an ipad and it worked its way down in prizes to 6th which got "tikay for the night" I was pretty new to poker and found it funny that i came 6th out of 500 odd. I wasnt to sure what to do,

So i emailed sky and just asked if i could swap the prize for entry into the thursday night BH, As i dint know what i would do if Tikay came over to mine! Im not the most confident guy,

So Sky let me swapped it and i think Sky Dan/Dave cant remeber which one, Said Goodluck, Take it down! And i only went and took it down for £1900. Felt so good as my first MTT win and my biggest cash still to date. What a swap!

I'd have to say my favourite memory was going to SPT Cardiff. It was only my 2nd ever SPT (after going to Brighton a few months earlier) and I managed to come 12th out of abuot 180. Was a great day all round, got to sit with some people I'd always wanted to meet like TommyD, came away with a few quid too and met some other great people like Tikay.

Great atmosphere and great fun, and I've been hooked since then. I've barely missed a single SPT since my first one and always try to get to them all.

How is it rude? I was 18, If i won it now i would of thought different At the time I was living with my GF and it was a bit bumpy, Its also along way for Tikay to come. I wasnt ready for somebody to come over and help me with poker. Or go look at trains, bridges and Planes lol. Dont Judge me on that comment..

    EDIT: Thanks :P

At the risk of throwing someone the opportunity for a brag post, one of the earliest things I can remember from soon after I discovered the Sky Poker channel was when one Tony Kendall successfully won The Open back in the days when the whole tournament was followed until a conclusion... think Helen Chamberlain was still one of the presenters it was that long ago... there was a fair amount of modesty shown, Tikay almost seemed embarrassed to have taken it down!

On a personal basis, from my brief efforts playing MTTs on the site around that time, I somehow found myself playing poker in front of Sky cameras for some show that was meant to be given noobs a first taste of live poker. Probably for the best that I think it only got shown once as I made a shocking move that I'll remember forever... very much taught me the lesson to ALWAYS look at the stack of other players before making daft bluffs with junk against someone who had no choice but to be shoving their chips in to pretty much any bets... DOH!

Can't believe it is only 6 years of Sky... seems to have been around forever since I first got into poker!!

best moment on sky for me did not happen as sky sam didnt have the guts to do it for me but would of been so so so so so so so so funny

i asked him if he could post a fake list on the final day of the cash promo thats just gone and have all unknown names in the top 50 just to see the posts that would be put on by all in it

now that would of topped it all

would of been so funny to see
