Exactly, so stick to one format, one level and you're variance will all work out even Posted by Lambert180
For the record im spending this week, trying to improve my love life. That cant get any worse so i have nothing to lose lol.
Also the cards dont have memories line comes from someone whos supported me loads over the last while so i guess i have to credit to him. Dohhh. Top bloke.
Yeah crack on Don, I went through a similar situation to you in my DYM challenge. About a week ago I had made £100 profit during my challenge, I then had 2 horrible sessions on them and dropped down to £50 profit. I was gutted cos I was looking at it from the point of view that my BR had went down by £50 in 2 days, but I took some time to think about it and I'm still £50 up from the start.
Admittedly £50 in about 4 weeks isn't gonna mean I can quit my job anytime soon lol and likewise with your current cash profit, but winning is winning and that's exactly what you've been doing. And let's face it, we're far from the best players in the world and we're still learning all the time, so if we're winning consistently now, the only way is up and to win even more and at a faster rate.

i went to casino tonight for a game with the old man. I went out of tourny he was still in with 20 bigs. since he was short i decided to put £30 onto a 50p/50p cash game. Expecting to play for about 20-30 mins then head home. 20 mins in dad approches me and says hes trebled up, great i have also. So im on around £130 And lost a 600BB (£300) pot 3 way (one guy folded before river) with only one card in the deck to dodge. Majorly sick,
Anyways this just makes me more determinded. I handled it suprisingly well too. onwards and upwards, it can only get better.
A welcomed return tbh, i thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks my head was a mess tbh. I really needed a good session there and i know i only played for 1 hour but slowly back into it. 2 buy ins up is more than satisfactory and i know i lost a few daft pots with various bits of rust involved but managed to keep them small or v shortys.
glad your back in the seat again mate. had a great weekend myself. off work ill thurs and friday so had 4 days , 8 sessions. messed around between levels bgetting used to having 2 monitors and slowly building up amount of tables i can play. had 5 winning sessions outta 7. then shut down 6 tables and jumped up to nl30 on the other 2. doubled up on 1 table and turned 30 quid into 150 on the other. so 2nite im going for 2x nl100 and blow the lot lol
Nice work mate always nice to start in postive figures, still think that longterm you have to be ready for another period where you could lose say 4-5 BI's in a row and that it could happen in your next session and if it happens you need to be able to brush it aside without any tilt setting in.
Good luck with it though, potentially big month for you if you run well.

i feel like the dudes from hall pass without the marrage. ive forgotten all me charm. not good.
34 - Not sure this is played well, just looks like you made loose call on flop and got super lucky. 77 - Everyone is stacked why no raise pre ? Posted by Dudeskin8
i actually called to assess the flop. not sure why tht little voice again.
the 77 hand the table was very active and i felt id be folding most flops so i flatted.
34 - horrible, fold or raise pre (prefer a fold oop), fold flop 77, if u dont want to play poker then fold pre... Posted by lynx3ffect
Surley this is a bit on the nit side. I will admit t alot of mistakes in my last session but surley set mining v deep oppos with 7;s is ok. I took the stack when i did so surley that makes it a +EV Play long term

results based thinking ftw?
You took his stack because you coolered him. Raising is much better than limping with the 77 pre imo

have a look at how the same vil played A6 in another hand. the very last one QQ v KK v A6. Therefore imo hes gna stack with TPGK anyways.

folding is bad pre, obviously,....i was referring to your point about it being a loose table and you were worried about missing your set, hence not raising. This is how you play poker, hence why i made the slightly sarcastic comment of not playing it at all if ur scared of an agro table!
raising pre is what you should be doing, that is the +ev play, not limping
i dont think there is anything wrong with playing 7s passive. lets be honest unless we hit a 7(which aint a lot) its easy to put down and we havnt invested anymore cash into the pot.

i fully respect where ur comming from. What i meant with my comment was the table was aggressive but also seriously loose. I rekon after a raise i could easily get 4 callers and then 3bet on this kind of table. Therefore i went for the flat to set mine.
FWIW i usually would raise this spot, i just never raise Middle pairs at NL4 for some reason. I always just set mine. Maybe a leak to be looked at i agree.

Yeah but when you do hit your set, it can really be a big struggle to get their stack in the middle. Assuming we are playing idiots who won't note us up much, you can put aside the fact that it becomes very predictable when you ONLY raise with premium hands and then limp with average hands like 77.
If you're gonna play the hand, it has to be by bringing it in with a raise.

Just had a quick session myself on the NL4 after a cpl of $10 DYM 10 player cashes (can,t seem to get many DYM,s at £5 level at this time of night)
Love it when you get someone going all in every hand - had to laugh at this one tho
Evening
Back to normal
Lost a few buy ins - gave some abuse out about us all being rubbish and went off - Think he was drunk
Nice session Don - Not sure about the call on the turn with the 10 J _ Think you could have got away from that much cheaper
