POKERTREV lasted the longest in the tournament and gains free entry into tonights Re-Buy Main Event
Were there any aspects of the tournament that people would like to see changed, as we are hoping this could be a nice supplement to the tournament schedule.
Every suggestion posted will gain a free entry into tonights 'Longshot' tournament at 7:30pm....
Thanks,
Joe
Just don't tell the boss man
Thanks for the Free entry.
I thought the structure was good and I was also surprised at the standard of play for a micro stakes tourney tbh.
Here are my thoughts........
The tourney is called the "Longshot" (and it certainly is) but it's by no means impossible to make the cash from just a 50p investment.
I started the tourney with the intention of just using the 250 chip starting stack and try grind it up as high as I could before the end of the re-buy period.
After everyone folding into me in the 1st hand I then realised I was then unable to have the re-buy for an extra 3K of chips because I had more than 250 chips, so my initial thoughts at the time were......"If the re-buy value is 3K Chips, then surely I should be able to re-buy up to that value?"
But undeterred, I managed to grind it up to 1.3K, but as the end of the re-buy period got ever closer, I decided it would be better to lose a few chips at this stage and then be able to have the re-buy.
I won a few flips.....QQ V AK on an A High flop, all the chips went over the line and I was relieved to see a Q hit on the river. I always feel for the player on the wrong end of it, but that being said anyone who has a great understanding of poker, knows this is just part of the game and at some point they will also win when they are miles behind.
I hit a set of 6's in a 3 way pot which made me a big chip leader so having the add-on at the break was then a must. After that aggression and a good run of cards saw me through to the final table.
Heads up the chip leader had a monster stack compared to mine and the blinds were to big to sit and wait for a hand so it was pretty much a case of any two closely connected cards for me.
Managed to finish 2nd and enjoyed what was a great value tournament imo and the standard of play was very good. It certainly wasn't the shove fest that many had imagined with such a short starting stack, far from it.
I would definately play it again.
Great feedback and insight from a players point of view.
I will fix the re-buy problem that you highlighted, so that any players can re-buy all the way up until 3,000 chips has been reached. At the moment, the threshold is set at 251, but I understand the logic behind raising this threshold to 3,000 chips.
Thanks again, and good luck in tonights main event, as well as tonights Longshot
Joe
