The poker econonmy is not funded by poker players. It is funded by recreational gamblers. When these players find out they are being tracked and people are using software to aid them. The probability is they will stop spending money on poker. They may not find out for years but they will eventually. Why would we want something that puts our customers off from spending money?

    exactly this

I know like 10s of players at my local casino (majority of them poor). Who refuse to play online because of people having tools to aid them.

Tell em bout SkyPoker and they still just dismiss it. Massive shame because the leaks they have may be massive but hard to eploit when you play 10 HU pots with them all night.

Thank you all for responding to my original post & apologies for misplacing this in the clinic. Seems like I've touched the community's nerve with my pro-HUD enquiry. Going through your posts, I can see that the majority of you don't like it for one of the two reasons, either (i) you feel insecure with your inability to inteprete/make use of mathematical/analytical data therefore are fearful that smarter players will gain advantage on you or (ii) you are simply selfish, i.e, if I don't need, surely everyone else MUST feel the same after all my way is the only way - if you're in this group, god have mercy on your wife.  I always thought life is about choices, if you don't need it fair enough then don't install it on your PC, I'm sure not everyone on stars use HM or PT but life still goes on on that site. Skypoker has a responsibility to give us the choice to have it or to opt out. imo, the best online players are those who can adjust and outsmart HUD-dependant nits/pros by being unpredictable. imo when used properly, these software will primarily improve your own game; do I really care about Player X's VPIP/PFR ratio when my own ratio starts showing me that I'm becoming a calling station or am now playing unreasonably tight? In a game where we are quick to point a finger and never hold ourselves accountable by blaming the bad beats, the run of cards, the maniac to our left, rigged skypoker software, nagging wife, headache etc etc, there is nothing better at helping you become objective in self-critisism than using a factual tracking software.

So you seem to be saying its all about choice and its somehow skys obligation to give you the choice... I do agree its about choice. Sky offer people the choice of playing on a site which doesnt allow HUDs. I think its only fair that people have the choice of playing somewhere where they are not put at a disadvantage by not having 3rd party software. If you want to use a HUD you have the choice of many, many other poker sites.

I do agree that using tracking software improves your game, but i could as easily say playing on a site where its not allowed improves your game. How about try not using it and see if you know the frequency of peoples 3bets/4bets. How about try and spot the weakness in other players without knowing their exact stats on every street. I could turn the tables on you and say that you feel insecure without a HUD as you fear smarter players will exploit you if you dont have one. You're saying its great for everyone when in reality its great for the select few who know how to use it, so whos being selfish?

I am arguing from the point of view of having used a HUD for hundreds of thousands of hands and not using one for much more.

We do not work with suppliers of HUDs or support HUDs and have no plans to.
