A very quick update. Only entered the mini and mian rebuys tonight. In both events took no addons and no rebuys. In the mini I bubbled the cash. In the main I ended up taking 3rd for £510.15, my biggest cash to date on Sky. So off to bed a happy man. MTT's Played 26 Profit £404.03 ROI 191.44% ITM% 19.23% Posted by 68Trebor
So the morning after the night before and having had time to reflect I have a couple of hands to review.
Firstly my exit hand from the mini, when on the cash bubble.
Really badly played, should never have called the flop bet, was on the bubble of cashing and should have thrown it away after the villain's flop shove. Will learn for next time.

Then the hand that probably cost me at least £300. When 3 handed on FT of Main the following hand came up.
Looking back I really missed the chance to obliterate the villain's stack. I think I should have called the villain's raise on the flop rather than shoving. At the time put him on an over pair but now think my shove gave away my hand. If I had flatted his raise I think he would of bet the turn as he was pretty aggressive. Thoughts please.
Also looking back I played quite aggressive from 2 tables out but then really tightened up once we got down to 3 handed. Needed to continue to be aggressive once 3 handed and need to learn from this for next time.
Just busted the £12k Sky Sports BH. Having satellited in for £7.20 I was pleased to finish 38th for a min cash and also take 2 Bounties for a profit of over £50. Played the Mini as well but never really got going finishing mid table in 232nd.
Was nice to see my big hand (see above) from the final table of last night's main shown on the poker clinic and for Ryan to say I played the hand well, appears KWD was on the steal.
As you can see from acca above I nearly landed it, only Exeter let me down with a 2-2 draw.
Didn't play any poker on Saturday, but did play 3 MTT's on Sunday, an £11 BH and 2 x £5.50 BH's. Played shocking and quickly exited, really was too tired to play so called it a day.
Tonight, Monday, I tried satelliting in to the main but finished on the bubble in 4th place. Thought sod it and paid straight into the main and mini. My mini adventure didn't last long crashing out in 227/542. The main, however, went a lot better with a 6th place finish giving me a total return of £324.42 including Bounties. The hand I went out is below. The villain had been relentless in his aggression towards me and I thought I had him. Perhaps I should have held on and looked to ladder, but the jumps in cash from 6th to 3rd weren't great and a double up would have guaranteed top3 and a shot at the win. What do you think.
An early evening update, having layed a selection of MTT's this afternoon and early evening.
Played a total of 7 so far today a mix of Speed Bounty Hunters and sats for tonights main. Wasn't fairing to well until the last of the 7 which was a £11 buy-in £150 Speed Bounty Hunter where I managed to finish 2nd of 22 for a return of £56.91, giving me a profit of £18.32 so far today.
Going to play the Main and Mini tonight as I am aware the cards are falling my way at the mo and I need to take advantage whilst I am on rungood.
Another nice thing to see today was that my Sharkscope now shows a healthy profit of $596 since I first deposited on Sky Poker 30/05/2010.
Brilliant profit from 50 MTTs! I'm going to try and play quite a few MTTs next week instead of playing cash. What would you say was the biggest part in getting good and profitable at MTTs? Next week, im hoping to play 10 -20 MTTs, and final table atleast 1 or 2 of them. Posted by LARSON7
Despite what my stats might be saying at the mo I am far from an expert at MTT's or any kind of poker for that matter. At the moment the cards are running good and as a result I have a confidence in my play which is helping me make the right decisions.
In my humble opinion what I have been doing well lately is
1. Playing in position and making descisions based on stack sizes, board textures and the villains play rather than just on my holding. You must do this to build your stack as you will rarely succeed by just playing premium hands.
2. Picking my opponents carefully. I try to avoid big stacks and players I know are decent and tend to try and get heads up versus weaker players with position.
3. Playing aggressively, trying to take the lead in situations.
4. Being prepared to fold decent hands when the need arises.
5. Not worrying about individual bounties but playing Bounty Hunters to win.
6. Been looking back at key hands and trying to learn from my mistakes.
Good luck in trying MTT's, hope to see you at a final table.
As I am on a late today I decided to play a couple of hours of poker this morning. Unfortunately there were no MTT's I could really participate in, so decided to play a couple of tables of 20nl cash. Pretty quickly I was down 1 buy in but soon got my cash head back on and ended up winning a couple of buy ins.
Will now add a cash record to my summary, as really enjoyed playing cash this morning and may have a dabble now and again.
Another late shift another early morning session of 20nl. Again only 2 tabled, as find that more than this just makes me play like a robot. Played really bad this morning and was far to loose agressive, trying to make moves that really made no sense. Was lucky to get away with a small loss of £10.75.
Just played a very quick 1hr session 3-tabling 20nl, before heading out to the pub, feel a bit like Scott of the Antartic.
Managed tomake £6.91.
Would like a bit of advice on the following situation which kept cropping up.
I am sat in the SB with e.g. Q,7 suited, a hand I would normally throw away. Get 2/3 limpers before me, what do you do. I tend to call, believing that for the sake of making up the blind it is worth it.
Same situation but a mall pocket pair, I tend to call to try and hit the set.
Returned to the MTT tables after a couple of days of cash.
Played in a late reg sat for the main and managed to sneak into the places, then proceeded to go out of the main with a whimper. Took no bounties and never really got going.
Also played a £6 sat for the £4k Bounty Hunter but it became a bit of a shovefest and the gods weren't smiling on me.
Played a £1k Bounty Hunter and managed a creditable 40/150 but took no bounties.
Then went deep in the Mini and eventually bubbled the final table getting my 80k chips in the middle pre-flop holding QQ versus the villain's K9, the K on the flop ruining my chances. Thought I played really well in the Mini and on several occassions pushed people off hands when I had nothing. This is a big advance in my game recently and is e starting to play the situation and player rather than just playing my cards. Have to say the bubble for the final table was the longest I have played and went on for over an hour. Eventually my 7th place finish along with bounties came me a profit of over £55 on the day.
A very quiet day on the poker front today. Only played 2 £12 sats for the £10k Primo. Missed out on both. Playing in the micromillions main event on stars tonight, may return to sky later for a bit of cash depending on how I run.
Spent a good few hours today sledging with my daughter. At the end of our road is a place called Caulms Wood, basically a very steep grassy hill, about 800m long, that is ideal for sledging when there is a good foot and a half of snow. I am sure that today I managed to hit 50mph, at least it felt like it. Funny that there were more middle aged men flying down the hill than kids. I guess we never grow old. Have to say it was my daughter who wanted to come home because she was too wet and cold, I could of stayed there all day. Just wish that there was a ski lift on the hill.
Played terribly this morning and then get back from work tonight and fire up 3 x 20nl tables for a quick hours session and play really well, finishing £28.34 up.Why can't I play my A game all of the time, guess that's what seperates the good players from the average.
Anyway off to bed now to listen to the cricket. Next hour and Ian Bell are vital if we are to survive.
Another morning session has beared some profit. Played a 20nl table, 30nl table and 20nl Action table. Struggled to get anything going on the 20nl and 30nl tables but played really well and started to boss the 20nl Action table. Funny how even in the same session you can feel like you are playing well on one table and poorly on another. Ended up with a profit of £33.93, amd my highest total profit to date.
So a month in and everything is hunky dorey, feel I am playing well and getting the rewards. Think my MTT game has really improved lately and this has been reflected in my results. The aim for this month must be two-fold. Fristly to drive up my ITM% and secondly to convert a final table appearance into a win.
Woke up to hear England had held on in the cricket, another great performance by the tail-enders showing some real English fighting spirit, lets hope for the same from the footy lads tonight.
A bloody disaster yesterday, fell back into my old ways. Having had a really rough few days at work, Easter is like a mini xmas in retail, I played last night when toooo tired and paid the price.
3 x MTT's = Nowhere -£38.50
2 x 30nl tables = -£107.86
Back to the drawing board today, and sticking to 20nl on the cash tables.
Just finished a small session of 2-tabling 20nl whilst watching Soccer Saturday. Started unbelievably well as got AA and KK in first 2 hands and got paid on both occassions, so after 2 hands up £30. Finished £36.85 up.
The hand below was probably the most interesting. Have I played this too tight. Put the villain on a set. Should I be getting it all in here, or was the fold correct.
Another quick session of 20nl, upped it to 3 tables. Only played for about an hour, between tea and getting ready to go out. Only off to the local, now has it's own reward card, buy 6 pints get 1 free. Times must be hard for the traditional boozer if they have to resort to these tactics. Good old fashioned pub, still has a Tap room, probably end up in there to watch the boxing.
