Good to see things have picked up. I miss being at home and watching the IPL. Posted by splashies
Cheers Splashman.
GL with the golf this week. I still have £2 on Poulter to win from when I tried to back him for the matchplay @ 40/1 and had the wrong market open
Could be the biggest fluke of all time!
Any chance of telling me what you had in this hand?

Not sure if I played it bad, was trying to cut out the spew in Tuesdays session, hence starting at 20nl where I was readless and loads of ppl were short. Had no choice but to play abc then take it up to 30nl.
If I raise flop I think I'm just face up, but I spose u can fold some stuff u wud 3bet a button open with. I'm unsure tho, prob shud be happy just calling down and folding otr
Really trying to wrestle with my inner degen today!!!!
Want to lump the LOT on Rajistan Royals to beat Pune in the 2nd game.
I know it's not alot money wise, and if I didn't have this thread going I'd prob stick £20 on RR without even thinking about it, but as the aim here is to make a profit over a prolongued period of time, it seems like a rash thing to do.
Having built up a steady bankroll over the first 10 days or so of the comp do I really wanna gamble all the profit on 1 match and have to start from scratch? ugh. yes I do
Wish I hadn't bet £7.50 yesterday, should have just left it alone.
------------
I'm also torn in the first game.
I said this thread is partly to enchance my enjoyment of the comp.
But the first game today is an absolte belter, and I don't really need to gamble on it to enjoy it, with the players on show, it should be a joy to watch anyway.
My problem is, I'm obv an RCB fan, and love to watch ABDV, Gayle and Kohli smash it out of the park.
But at odds against, I fancy KKR to are the value and to back them means I'll have to watch the game wanting Gayle and Kohli and co to get out early.
meh.
****
K I'm guna bottle the first game! Must stay as professional as possible
In the v unlikely event that any1 is reading this thread and following the tips, I wouldn't put u off KKR @ 11/10 to beat RCB, unless ur a RCB fan
Obv need some intrest in the game, so I'm sticking with Virat Kohli to top score for RCB for the third game in succession.
Again I see it as a 3 horse race between him, Gayle and ABDV, so 3/1 is about right, but he's in awesome form, AB looked dodgy and Gayle has had 2 fails in a row (not sure if that should be a positive or a negative for this bet)
Gonna put it in a treble with Watson to top score for RR this afternoon (11/4) and Dehli to win the only fixture tomorrow against Hydrabad (4/6)
Treble pays 24/1, so can have a small bet with potential for a decent return, and not be too bothered if Gayle smacks 100
Will decide what I want to do in the RR game later, glad it's 2nd up, but the downside is I'll have a drink inside me and prob do something silly
nvm, watch the first game if u can, will be a cracker!

I had a pair of beautiful Ladies.
Raising flop would def get me off some hands that I 3bet with. Would you have shoved river had I checked? But I don't think I can ever check the river as I'd be missing out on value more often than not. And if i was bluffing I'd prob shove river too.

Another loser on Saturday. Things going terrible. Gonna have 1 last bet today, and then have a week off to watch the snooker instead. Getting abit bored of T20, the IPL traditionally seems to drag on for ever. We're still not even half way through the competition, so I've got plenty of time to return and stick to my initial aim of simply "making some money" Have been +£35 on 2 occasions now before dropping back to zero. Need to remember what I'm trying to achieve, and not get greedy. Todays bet is on Shane Watson to top score & RR to win, £3 @ 7/1 Chennai have looked vulnerable so far, but you feel that if RR are to win, Twatto needs to make a big score, so 7/1 is a fair enough price imo. BTW, my tornament top scorer bets aren't looking great, although Rahane isn't far off a place. David Miller got only his 2nd game yesterday after a duck in his first. He whacked 80 not ot off 40 balls. If only the Punjabis had as much faith in him as I have. sigh. Will update all the totals before I take my mid-IPL 'strategic time out' tomorrow. In Response to Re: IPL 2013, lets see if I can make some money! : Whacks 101. RR stil lose tho. Just int cricket Posted by DOHHHHHHH
DOHHHHHHH that was the most inept display of bowling and fielding I've ever seen on a cricket field. They gave the game away mate. And the captain was most culpable. Very poor selection of bowlers, and his fielding in that 2nd last over should have the Corruption Authorities on standby.
Captain, can you give me any advise on how to talk IPL 2013?
I'll be in Delhi next week and I could do with beefing up my cricket small talk.
At the moment I can say , 'that Tendulkar bloke can hit a ball can't he' and 'what is Kapil Dev up to these days?'.
So I think I spotted Delhi on your thread somewhere, what's their full name? Delhi Belly's?
Of course I can and will google the stuff, but I reckon you could could educate me properly.
Can you increase my IPL 2013 knowledge in 60 seconds?
How are Delhi doing in the tournament, any interesting matches / events so far involving Delhi?
What are their chances of winning?
Who are their star players?
Give me a name of a lesser player at Delhi I could mention, I'm sure if I suggested I thought such and such player was very promising and should be given more opportunities, I'd really come across well.
Who has looked the best team and players so far?
Was it Chris Gayle that set some sort of batting record yesterday?
Any constructive comments would be much appreciated
Best advice if you're going to Dehli.......... DONT MENTION THE IPL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Biggest franchise, one of the pre tournament favourites. Lost their first 6 in a row and have won 1 out of 8, rock bottom of the table and no chance of progressing in the tournament! Is it too late to re-book and go to Bangalore instead? Posted by DOHHHHHHH
LOL!!!:)
I honestly had no idea!
It would have took me a lot longer to work that out via google.
Virender Sehwag is their hero. And obv every Indian idolises Sachin. Virat Kohli the up and coming star of Indian cricket, one of very few players that has managed to win me money this series!
They'll still pack the ground out every game though, cricket mad!
Would be an awesome experience if you could somehow get to one?
They're a team full of big names, they've just under-performed. Will be a very entertaining few hours if you're around the ground, maybe now the pressure is off they'll start performing and dish out a few hidings.
Will be looking to back them myself when I start again at the weekend.
Enjoy you're trip, and gl fading the Dehli Belly! (they're the Dehli Daredevils fwiw. Kinda ironic name as they've been anything but fearless throughout this comp!)
I'm in Delhi Monday and Tuesday, don't know if there is a match on then, but doubt I'll get chance to go.
As you say they are mad for their cricket out there and I always like to do a bit of cricket research before I go out to that region.
Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are the same, they are cricket nuts and they expect all the English to be the same, they love talking about it and you see kids everywhere having a game with make shift bats and wickets.
After my (financial) interest in the snooker ended yesterday, (gutted!!!) I wanted to return to the IPL today.
However, I'm struggling to find anything worth betting on in the match betting markets today.
Chennais team of superstars @ 8/15 should beat Punjab. Punjab are capable on their day though, have some real match winners with the bat. At 6/4 though neither team appeals.
2nd game is Pune v RCB. Should be an away win, but again 8/15 is vvvv tight. Maybe Pune are decent value here, certainly the best value bet of the 4 teams today. But as an RCB fan I wont be backing them!
Have found abit of interest in the first game, and backed David Miller to score more than Mandeep Singh for Punjab @ 10/11
Only £6.40 to get things going again. It's just so tough!
Will stop putting the list of bets up every post now, it's getting long.
Didn't update the totals after the last 2 losers, which were -£4 and -£3.

Dimi Macher-a nus in for David Miller.
Baffled.
Eng have a v good T20 team, people like Luke Wright and Oais Shah can't get a game in the IPL, yet Donkey M'a nus gets picked.
Lets hope it's one of those pitches that allow a 68mph dobber to become unplayable!

DONT MENTION THE IPL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Biggest franchise, one of the pre tournament favourites.
Lost their first 6 in a row and have won 1 out of 8, rock bottom of the table and no chance of progressing in the tournament!
Is it too late to re-book and go to Bangalore instead?
I honestly had no idea!
It would have took me a lot longer to work that out via google.
Thanks JJ
Good luck with the rest of the tournament.
