Sky Poker forums will be temporarily unavailable from 11pm Wednesday July 25th.
Sky Poker Forums is upgrading its look! Stay tuned for the big reveal!
Been lacking motivation since withdrawing most of my roll, I have now withdrawn down to £40 and will be logging one months play in an attempt to be accountable to myself and recapture a structured playing schedule to take forward into the winter.
First session tonight.
No more football betting and no more tourneys (excluding freerolls) for me. A pure 4nl month.

Will be an interesting read.
I think the frequency that our buddy Dave plays could see my returns swing around 25% either way.
Totally agree about the mocking, being critical can be okay depending on how it is presented, ie is it constructive.
I think I just need to give my advice and leave it there. I admit I dont have all the answers - far from it indeed, and also realise that my expertise is 4nl cash and nothing more. Its just when I am sure of myself I have trouble just leaving it at the one post and get drawn into the mocking mode. Acerags thread in BBV being a prime example.
Feel free to PM me when I am stepping the boundary, just yourself though, I am sure there is a limit on the inbox.
Keep dreaming
4nl is my domain
Why would I waste time sitting with (semi) competent regs?
Although If you think the sole reason I moved was just because of one player (ie yourself), then your deluded.
A "don" by my definition makes the best decisions to give the most +ve situations. Doesnt let ego tell him to go toe to toe with ok players. I try and iso the droolers and have no shame in admitting it.
KK, not even sure why I shoved so soon, dont usually do that.
Note to self, stop pot betting and mix it up
Upon review I think I butchered a lot of these spots.
Up a few quid overall
2) You win a bigger pot when you both miss, and take it down with a cbet
3) You win a bigger pot when you hit a hand and can start value betting
4) You can steal the blinds which is often underrated in cash
maybe I will hit big = all nl4 players
= u
Roll up to about £56
A couple from tonight, Good variance returning. Had a poor few days at cash.
Roll up to just over £70
For example?
Reasoning
Firstly I do sometimes make it 12 or 16p, and secondly there are a couple of other hands I will min with - so its not super exploitable.
I will generally do this when there are several players who are just not folding to bigger raises. I will flop the set a small % of the time, the range of calling hands at 4nl is so crazy wide that I am not able to assign ranges with much accuracy. I am happy just to make it a small raise and not waste much money for when I miss. The times I do hit, there are more players left in the pot to have also caught a bit of the flop - more players for me to have chance of stacking. Yes there are more people left to stack me, but I just acknowledge that take that risk.
The idea of min raising small pps being a leak was pointed out to me a while back, I took it on board and did a few weeks trial raising more. I did a hell of a lot worse than I did with my min raising. Before anybody chips up "this will be exploitable higher up" - Well, im not playing higher up am I!
I will 4xbb raise if a decent reg is the only player left in the hand pre and I can have more chance of them folding pre, or to a contin bet post.
Simple fact of the matter, at 4nl I do a lot better raising small pps small pre. Maybe because I am not good enough to assign ranges post and bet accordingly, or maybe I am playing 5 tables and cannot follow the dynamic of each table closely enough........ I just tend to make a habit of doing things that win me more ££ in the long run.
What do you mean OOP KQs, I am oop with AK as well, no real reasoning for bet sizing with the KQs 12p and 20p AK.
