In Response to Re: What is an acceptable reaction to being slowrolled?? Any crazy slowroll fights/stories? : Sounds to me like he absolutely owned you. It's a re-buy and he's got you on tilt.  Obviously i wasn't there but i can gurantee it wasn't a 5 second wait between him flipping the cards,  exaggeration for the win.  Plus he could have easily meant to flip the 5 first.  Hard to remember which card is which. WP him.

He played the hand well. Checking the river was great play to induce a bluff. Wouldn't say absolutely owned though. Imho when I've tabled my bluff why not just say "I've got the 5" before he flips his cards? That's what I would have done. Guess everyone is different.

That's not really a slowroll Shauny, when he calls your triple barrel you know you're beat. He's not really going to show a jack then flip an Ace.

Mid to late stages of a live tournament, think we were approaching the bubble, I had about 25BB, folded round to me on the button, I just over min raise and the BB shoves. I fold. Next orbit, similar stack I'm on the button and look down at AKo, I reach for chips and the BB says 'Are you sure? It didn't work out too well for you last time. I'm going all-in and I've not even looked at my cards yet.' I put the bet in, and sure enough he shoves on me putting me at risk. I've not seen him look at his cards so I wonder if he's seriously strong and is pretending not to have looked. I didn't take long, but when I called and turned over AK he gave it the 'what took you so long?!' He had QcJc, so I guess he must have seen them! Was a sweat and we held with Ace high, but he took exception that I didn't snap him off. Perhaps he shouldn't have given the speach.

I was curious as to what would constitute a slowroll on online Poker - I didn't realise that letting the time run low is a slow rolling.

If i were to let the time go down, it would be over a deliberation on what is on the table, outs and what the other players may be holding or I was looking at another table - but I try my best to be a quick as I can.

I only ever tick the 'Away' button if I am actually away, wee-ing, smoking etc........

If I see that others are 'away', or they take a long time to act I don't get annoyed or frustrated, I employ my thought track that they are busy doing other people things. It's not a long time to wait and everyone gets their turn eventually. I do sometimes wonder why players enter a game, and tick the 'away' box and then I realised  that by doing so in the early cheap rounds it is an effective tool for longevity, not losing much and always the opportunity to pop in and play the good ones. That just seems a little empty to me - but whatever works.

I do find though if I am having a slight tilt I will tick away and just take 2 to re-group, there is nothing wrong with that, in fact doing so my help.

I find rudeness on the felt abhorrent. We don't know each other, this is an online service and is anonymous - who are the hecklers to think they know so much?

Deep breaths my friends and let the chips come to you :D

Think you've missed it you Pudding - effectively online slowrolling is really deemed to be people using their entire time bar before making the call with the nut hand, sometimes accompanied by a bit in the chat-box like "ty" or ":)". As previously mentioned, without the chat comments, it may not be a genuine slowroll as that player may not have been giving that game their full undivided attention.

Its when people start chatting away whilst the action is on them. One time I got slowrolled the guy put 'err' in the chatbox about 3 times then tanked and called with AA. Flopped my straight gg sir. :-)

Not only a slowroll but a non player in the hand giving information. I was playing a cash game at one of the two casinos in Stoke. £485 in the pot and its a showdown  3 way. I declare my top set and the first guy a regular mucks
his hand the third player stares at his cards and announces a pair and goes to muck them the guy to his left another reg who isnt in the hans tells him to check his cards again. "Oh yeah" declares matey "I have a straight. Sorry mate you lose".

He then proceeds to laugh in my face and the chips which had been stacked and raked and pushed my way but not over the line change direction and go to him.

There were consequences arising from this which may have resulted in one of the parties involved sustaining some injuries but best leave that to you to interpret.
