Dermot started life as a salesman, but quickly graduated to poker and

He's also a bit of an Omaha wiz, so if you have any questions about that, fire them in and we'll devote a big segment of Poker School to the subject from 9pm.

Re: The WSOP Main Event.
Jacobson was definitely a deserved winner, he played the best on the final table (at least the second half of the FT), coming back from 7BB after 145 hands to dominate the final day. Yes, he probably had the best run of cards over that time too but he used them very well.
Jorryt van Hoof made one big mistake 3-handed and paid for it, otherwise he would have been a handful for Jacobson.
The WSOP will have loved Billy Pappas (or if you really want, William Pappaconstantinou)'s presence on the FT. He's the nearest thing to a rank amateur to make that stage since Darvin Moon, and they need that to happen once every few years to keep pushing the idea that anyone can come and put down $10K with a realistic chance of making a fortune.
Similarly the Mark Newhouse story has been great publicity
There seems to be more and more momentum to abandon the November Nine, particuarly now the players aren't able to get chunky sponsorship deals in the interim, but I see that as a brand the WSOP will want to keep pushing.
Shame we haven't had a Brit at the final table for the last couple of years, but 4 in the top 60 this year was a decent showing.
The other thing that needs changing is the commentary team. I know how hard it is to do long live (or nearly live) broadcasts, but to call the cards wrong in the final hand and then to announce the losing player's name as the winner collects his bracelet just beggars belief.
Looking forward to 2015 already...
A question for dermot blain
As a no limit holdem player i play the odd omaha now n then i find i have a weakness in my game hope u could help
My preflop game i never really raise pre just call as i think any hand in omaha is good untill u see a flop like for instance if i have aa kk 1 pair will very rarely win on the board so i have to hit a set so i dont like to raise preflop and miss hitting then i have to give up
so my question is what hands should i be raising preflop ? what hands are good in omaha ? and is being in position a big advantage in playing plo cash
sorry for rambling on just a novice at the game i know i have leaks in the game but i enjoy the game see alot more flops etc then the standad no limit hold em game

Great show guys.

when a board becomes paired the first thing people will fear is trips,
holding quads means you are certain to give a person worr and know he won't hold a weaker trips,
Q. should i keep my betting weak on all but the wettest of boards if holding quads?
