Poker has given me something to concentrate on after sustaining a serious injury from Ice Hockey around 7/8 months ago. I've gone from training 3 times a week & getting paid to not being able to play at all. Worst part about it is my contract is up in the new year so Poker has given me some of the competitive spirit/nature on my road to recovery.

On a lighter note it also gives me piece and quiet away from my misses. I just claim I am trying to win us loads of money and she leaves me alone!!

Hi hope you have a great show Last longer please What do i have poker to be thankful for ? Well taking your examples as a guide 1= Did you meet your partner through poker ? Yes. My last marrige broke down due to playing poker 24/7 so i ended up with the marrige guidance counsellor 2= Did you pay off a debt ? Yes. When i first started playing poker i had a £3000 bank loan that i owed so i got a £5000 bank loan and paid off the £3000 one and kept the rest for poker 3= Did poker introduce you to some new friends ? Yes. I had hundreds of friends before i started playing poker but lost touch with them all and now i have hundreds of new ones who follow me around every cash table i sit on 4= Did poker cure you of something ? Yes. I used to suffer from really bad OCD and had to do certain things at certain times of day incase the world came to an end if i didnt. Eg: I had to make a cup of tea at exactly 3.20pm or i had to take the dog for a walk at exactly 4.20pm or i had to make sure all of the tins in the cupboards were all facing the same way at exactly 5.20pm But now poker had changed all of that because i lose track of time and the day just floats by without any OCD attacks (btw i met a great guy on here yesterday called Rainman who said he had a question for me but i dont know what it is yet) 5= Did it make you see the world in a different way ? Yes. Before poker i used to just spend my days going for walks in the fresh air and seeing our beautiful world but now i spend them looking at 4 walls and a ceiling thinking just how wonderful life is 6= Did it make you a better person ? Yes. Before poker i would go running all the time and go on sponsored walks etc etc but now i sit infront of my pc all day just slowly getting bigger and bigger and they say bigger is better All in all i just want to say a big THANK YOU POKER

I have a serious point to make. Usually upon seeing the show question i try to think of something humerous. My then "humerous' post may or may not then hit the target. However, I have serious answer to the question, what has poker given to me.

Well live poker has made me an internationalist. I have, through poker, through playing live poker, caused me to play against, and make friends with, people of all cultural ethnicities of the UK and beyond. To be truthful, i was probably always quite insular with regard to my social mix, but through poker, that has changed. In fact, playing live poker has made me become very intolerant of poker players who retain "litte englander" ideas, has how the hell can you maintain that viewpoint when sat at a table with people of all colours and religions.

Online poker tho has made me a hermit !
