Wael Kendi is the first player to exit. He lost half his stack on the first hand to chinese frankie and then found himself on the button to a raise in teh cut off from Mark Galerakis
He three bet this raise and Galerakis 4 bet him
Possibly steaming a bit, possibly disbelieving, he 5 bet shoved Jack-Nine
As you don in the firs tlevel of a £550 competition
and ran slap bang into Aces
which held to take Galerakis up to 80,000 and the chip lead
the high roller hit 54 runners and £81,000, currently 20 or so left
21 1 Kuljinder Sidhu 21 2 Carl Froch 21 3 Matthew Davenport 21 4 Emran Hussain 21 5 Phillip Mighall 21 6 Stacy Coore 22 1 Darren Hill 22 2 Michael Howard 22 3 Nick Hicks 22 4 Fred Connolly 22 5 Guy Taylor 22 6 Paul Mctaggart 23 1 Richard Kellett 23 2 Neil Channing 23 3 Richard Gryko 23 4 Anonymous 23 5 David Penly 23 6 Ben Jones 31 1 Ben Dobson 31 2 Keith Johnson 31 3 Simon Higgins 31 4 Martyn Frey 31 5 Asif Raja 31 6 Alex Goulder
Meanwhile, in the High Roller, Mr Ambo doubles up again, & must be close to 90,000 now, with the average at about 120,000. Think he back the runner up in the last at York, too. Ledge.
is this whetting anyone's appetite for tomorrow? remember everyone is in for 1pm but if you prefer you can play at 6pm just let me know before the 1pm flight or let the cash desk know at dtd in person Posted by SPT
I am like a kid at Christmas.... So rare I have the opportunity to play live! But this just happens to fall in perfect sync with the school holidays so I can play

This was a very odd coup.
Flop was King high, all diamonds, Wael leads, Frankie check raises, Wael confidently calls.
Turn is another small diamond, Frankie leads. Wael calls.
River is a low brick, Frankie leads again, Wael insta calls & confidently rolls over A-K of spades. Frankie shows Q-10 of diamonds for flopped 2nd nuts.
Tim Blake is on the same table, & I told him he had put on a lot of weight. He told me I was looking much older. Marv.

Was I imagining it Mr Tikay sir or did I see your name in the lobby as a player together with Sky Dan? Or was it a similiarly named chap? In any case I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at DTD and soaking up the atmosphere. I'll try not to have my car stuck up a ramp this time when I'm supposed to be 100 miles away at start of the session lol Posted by IrishRose
Sorry Rose, only just seen this.
You most certainly did, & I can't wait, very excited.
Sky Dan is also playing, you don't miss much, do you?
He was taught to play by Sky Sam. Need I say more?

He's not here, he's gone for his afternoon nap I think, I'm doing all the updates, but using his account, so as to cover for him.

folded round to Stacey Coore in the big blind who makes it 10,000
Froch looks at his cards again, looks at his stack, Froch's stack, looks at his cards, looks at his watch, back at his cards...
and makes it 23,000
Mr Coore has Ac Tc and ponders silently the situation, or the fruitlessness of a poker player's existence when at 3pm on a thursday afternoon he is trying to work out what a world champion boxer has froma cross the felt...

Can I please show my stupidity here and ask how this works? Is the 1pm game due to finish for the night at 6pm? or does it continue til either a set time or when a certain number of players remain?

Hi Rose,
No, the two flights overlap.
The 1pm flight will continue until around 10pm, & the 6pm flight will continue until around 3am.
Players in the 2 flights do NOT mix, or share tables.
Both flights will play 12 x 40 minute levels, no more, no less. It has nothing to do with how many players remain.
The crucial thing is to ensure that Flights 1a, 1b, 1c & 1d all play for an identical number of levels.
All survivors from the Day 1 flights (there are 5 in all) merge at 3pm on Saturday for Day Two.
in the main at 250-500 Tim Chung limps the small blind John Eames makes it 1700 in the big blind Chung 5100 Eames 12600 Chung shoves covering Eames 50,000 calls all in i doubt enough people are watching to get any feedback, but name the range of hands for each.... Posted by SPT
Chung - Chungs range sounds like a begginer's AA so I would assign a range of AA maybe KK
Earnes - AK AA KK potentially QQ
Please tell me something like 77 vs 89 (Would be awseome)

3rd £12,000

Just a reminder, it is 6-Max, so there will be a "mythical" Final Table 7 handed. Mr 7th will go home empty handed.
You most certainly did, & I can't wait, very excited.
Sky Dan is also playing, you don't miss much, do you?
He was taught to play by Sky Sam. Need I say more?
that is all.
Carl isn't too experienced at tournament poker, which is fair enough and 40 minute levels even at six max are takign a toll
"boring isn't it?" he says to tikay
(who no doubt wants to tell him that he'd like the clock much slower so he can wait for aces longer)
tikay tells him the WSOP main has two hour levels
Froch's jaw drops, unlike in any bout at any stage of his erstwhile career
"really?" he exclaims, wide eyed
Someone find that man a turbo.
in a lot of pots
limps into a lot of them
