Congrats to Tsarina on beating me 3-2.

Great games, Tsarina ran away with the first two games, then I fought back to sqaure it at two a piece. The decider was a quick affair, both floping two pair (me top and bottom, Tsarina top and middle) chips went in and Tsarina deservedly goes through to the 1/4 final. Very well played and GL!

Thanks again Phantom for organising, really enjoyed it.

Just finished playing my fourth round match against StayorGo.  The match could have gone either way, but final result was Tsarina 3  StayorGo 2.

Managed to edge out Grintler 3-2 in a very tough battle.  Really enjoyed our match and could have gone either way especially when I was a river card away from elimination!

Congratulations to all of you and VWP that there have not had to be any walkovers this time. In fact your have finished a week earlier than the deadline.

I will probably do the draw on Thursday.

Given there will only be 4 ties to complete I suggest a shorter deadline this time - so competitors please keep any eye on this thread.

I will also be retiring the HUFA call-out thread now. In the beginning when there were so many fixtures to play it made it easier for me to keep track of everything. With only 7 matches to arrange before we have a winner I think I can cope with that all being done in this one thread now.

Ok so confession time.

I had a bit of time so got myself set up to do a live stream on youtube. Had to install new s/w and register for a site etc, then found the resolution wasn't looking great on the split screen (was going to show the draw on my excel spreadsheet and the ball machine at the same time).

Anyway gave up and starting to record the draw the old way - got to the end - battery had gone on camera. Only got the first 2 numbers in the can.

I'll be away on business for the rest of the week.

Therefore do I

a) Publish the draw anyway - you all trust me by now right?
b) Wait until at least the weekend and do a redraw.

No, you cannot see the draw before deciding whether you want a redraw!

If I have 0 objections - or only a small number of objections (say under 100) I will post the draw this evening. Seems fair and democratic and all that. Sorry for the lost entertainment value.

OK by a democratic majority of 2-1 I shall update the OP shortly.

So the draw is up.

Oddly the only 2 players who spoke up for the draw to be published without the video are the only two who I can prove came out of the machine with video evidence.

There will be an East Lancs derby - in fact one is from Burnley and one supports Burnley so I guess they are related?

Also a plopper derby, so we are guaranteed a plopper in the semi-finals.

and that plopper is me after a great battle with bbmike him even coming from 2-0 down but i made it through in the end for a 3-2 win.

Felt a bit hard done by going 2-0 down losing AK vs A5 and AJ vs KQ, but we're ploppers so we don't complain!

We also both managed to cash in a £5 PLO8 DYM whilst we were playing

Was a good match good luck for the rest of the tournament Churchy.
