Of course halving or quartering the odds is the same thing as halving or quartering your stake. But as a golf bet novice myself what I'd like to know is how it would settle if say your selection is tied 6th with 4 other players? Would it be 3/5 as 6,7,8 pay and 9,10 don't? Posted by bbMike
Good evening all,
Just to clarify, it is always half the stake for a dead heat, and not half the odds. There is a difference. For instance, if a horse dead heats at 3-1 you will be payed even money.
You are right Mike about the multiple deaed heats as you divide your stake by the number of dead heaters, and multiply by the number of places covered by those players. So 60% as per your example.

In Response to Re: Masters Golf Betting Preview : well done mate down to Earth next week at Hampden....HH xx Westwood gave Mr Waller and me a bit of excitement for a wee while and the E/W returns gave me a mini profit :-) Posted by HENDRIK62
Westwood gets too nervous when he goes to the front his putts end up short all the time. 125/1 did seem generous. Might give him confience this year and push on. Well done on picking him.
I have a little tip might stick a pound or 2 of my winnings on
