I had a surprise visit & "rail" at Venetian this evening from Sue & Dave Norsden, aka KidGrimsby & KidGirlGy. Sue won around $36,000 in the WSOP Main Event back in 2010 after qualifying for about £2, as I recall. Lovely couple.
Robert Lee Tarn, although i go by lee, Robert has been used for the first son of the first son for the last countless generations but my mum really hated it so from birth ive been called lee....

Biggest poker achievement before Viva Las Vegas?
My biggest poker achievement is only a small one and that was winning a tournament at my local casino on the 4/5th attempt at it, there was only around 100 players in it and it wasnt for massive money but it was nice to get a live win under the belt before heading off to vegas.

Hi Dog Bloke,
Course you can come along tonight. If anyone says anything, just say I said it is ok. Ignore anything Sam says, obv.
I won't be there sadly, unless I have a big accident in the WSOP PLO8, but will see plenty of you later in the week.

Arrived in Vegas! Met Chris (RSPCA) and Lyonsbob in the massive queue through immigration, so nice to see the sky players already. Palazzo is fantastic, nice view over the strip.
Absolutely done in now, been up 20 hours already, but off to meet the Sky team for a few drinks and some poker chat.
Good lucky to Tikay in his latest endeavours. See the rest of you soon.

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!
GL Matt, Chris and all Sky qualifiers.
GL too TK in the PLO8. Just keep playing hands :=)
P.S. Would be great if some qualifiers could record interesting hand histories. :=)
Good luck to all 5 qualifiers in the main event this week.
Any chance we can get a list of the 5 again so we can remember who went through? I can only remember Lyonsbob, Mattprawn and Uncle??
I can't seem to find the lobby listing for the 40 other qualifiers for the little drop either?
Last question - is there anyway we can run a sort of "last longer" guess list before the games kick off?
Really hope the Sky players have great time out there. I'm going out on Sunday and hope to meet up with some of the rabble there (I'll look for people with Sky poker badges of honour!!).

So lovely to meet everyone that I did meet. The night out at Top Golf was great fun and it seemed everyone was enjoying the extra value like the bus trip along the strip and to downtown and also the welcome and farewell parties. I know that Vegas can be a huge daunting place if you've never been there, especially if you go on your own and I think Sky did a great job of making sure people all felt part of the family.

Nicely put Mr Channing, Top golf was good but not if you wear a jumper like I did, thinking it might be air conditioned like everywhere else.
Great meeting you, top bloke and down to earth. Nice one Sky, and Neil.

Thanks all.
No news is bad news I'm afraid.
After having double average with a few tables left, the wheels came off in some style, & I ended up 9th for $2,361. My new name is Larry Letdown.
Anyway, it was my 3rd reasonable cash of the trip & keeps me in profit for the trip. So far......
Thanks for the kind comments.
See you soon - it should be a blast.
Will try & post a few photos each day, as we go along.

This was Sam arriving at McCarron yesterday. (That's "Sky_Sam", who sort of runs Sky Poker day to day. Ish.)
This was in the magnificent Venetian Card Room this evening, Sam nearest camera, & the chap in the orange t-shirt is, I think, "GREGGER".
Gregger (real name Greg) won his £3,500 Viva Las Vegas package in the first ever Half Time Tournament, which was a 2,500 runner Freeroll.
Not his first trip to Vegas, & he used to be a handy poker player before he concentrated on his Uni studies. Lives in Leeds, poor lad.
