WSOP Main Event - Day 1a Live Update - off we go.

Good morning, good morning, good morning.

The BIG day has arrived, & today is the first of three Day One's in the WSOP Main Event.

Play starts at 11am Vegas (7pm UK), & we'll use this thread to Update all day.

PLEASE put in requests for chip counts, photos, anything WSOP Main Event related, & we'll try & reply to them all. Remember, Live Updates ONLY work if you interact.
 
Also, the software is not the best for photos, but if you CLICK TO ENLARGE, they are not so bad.

Please note that due to the DPA (Data Protection Act) we do NOT have the right to link real names to Sky Poker aliases UNLESS the player agrees.

And in that respect, we have got lucky today, as we have a Sky Poker Qualifier playing the Main Event, he qualified as "UncleWaldo" I think, but in real life, he is known as Dave Nicholson, aka "Lil Dave.
 
I'll fill you in with some Lil Dave background as we go along, but for now, safe to say, Dave might just be the biggest degen ever ever ever.

Regarding the increase in stack sizes mentioned in the video diary...

I would have thought the pros would love this. More chips = better structure = less variance and the better players going deeper on average.

I would expect to see a few more big name pros involved at the thick end of things this year as a result.

One player has busted out already.

There were paired jacks on the board, one player had J-Q the other had J-A.

Would YOU go bust there, in Level one (2 hour levels) with 50,000 chips?

Should have mentioned - we do in today's Video Update, which will be available shortly - that the starting level is 75-150. Pretty sure it was 50-100 last year, or am I wrong?
