Rules below:

Regarding the rules for this Heads Up comp. It's pretty much the same as last year, but for those of you that are new to it, see details below:

When all results are in for the relevant round, I will make the draw for the following round using this site:

There is a slight change to last year, in as much as, all games will be £1.05 NLHE SPEED SNG's. (5min blinds) The Turbo (2 min blinds) were deemed too quick by most players that I spoke to.

Please use this thread for arranging fixtures AND posting results. Officially it will be the home players responsibility for making contact regarding the fixture, however if you are the away player feel free to initiate contact. If you can't get hold of your opponent on the thread, try a PM, failing that you could try and find them on chat when they are playing.

In the event of a fixture not being played in time, I will use my discretion and if necessary award the game to the person who made the most effort to schedule the game (hopefully this will not be necessary)

Player's playing schedules/work commitments vary, so please be considerate to your opponent when choosing the date and time to play.

Round of 32 will be best of five

Round of 16 will be best of five.

Quarter Finals will be best of five.

Semi Final will be best of seven.

FINAL will be best of nine. (Must win by two clear games (For FINAL only), if it somehow manages to go to 9-9, then it's sudden death)

Fully engraved trophy and replica for the winner.

Hi Rose, how late do you normally stay up?

Weds next week will be fine, but 9pm bit tricky cos peak time. How about midnight ish or is that too late?

If it's too late we can sort something else out I'm sure.

I can also play early afternoons between 2pm-5pm if that works at all.

Almost, I make it 32*31 = 992 - 32 = 960

The 32 is taken off because those drawn against each other in the first round can't both make the final

So there are 480 possible finalists, but if you want them in the right order then 960 is the number I believe.

Before the draw was made there were 496 possible finalists making 992 permutations if needing them to be in the right order too.

If all the rounds were pre-determined the number would be much less, but as all names that get through go into the hat again, I believe the above to be correct, as you could pick two players that meet each other before the final.

Hi Ned.

When you agree a date/time with Monkey, you'll just need to synch up on here just before you are due to play. One of you should then join a £1.05 Heads Up Speed SNG and the other one will need to join the table quickly (before anyone else does). You can then use the "rematch" feature for successive games. GL both!

Hi.

Just a quick note on the pledges.

The money that has been pledged from Sponsors, unless stated otherwise (ie for a specific charity), goes into the prize pool for the main TLB charity competition.

However it was suggested to me that perhaps the 1st and 2nd place finishers in the Heads Up competition, should win something for their own chosen charity.

This seems reasonable to me, and as such, if there is no objection, I would like to use £320 from the "Tournament Wins" prize pool to go to the chosen charities of the winner and 2nd in the heads up comp.

Namely: £200 to the winners chosen charity and £120 to the runner up's chosen charity.

The reason I have chosen to take it from the "Tournament Wins" pool is that this is most likely to be the largest "pot" of money at the end of 2016. So it should "balance out" the charity prize pools for the TLB winner and the "Tournament Wins" winner. Hope this makes sense.

If anyone has any objections to this, please let me know.
