Here’s a bit of a run through the action in last night’s Sky High Roller.
We’ll start with a few numbers, stats etc, then, from 10 players down to the winner, we’ll take it hand for hand, bustout for bustout.

With a revised approach to satellites & freerolls, the Suits must have been keeping a close eye on numbers registering. If so, some squirming in seats must have been evident.
8.15pm – 6 registered.
8.40pm – 11 registered
8.50pm – 14 registered
Shuffle Up & deal @ 9pm – 17 registered
Quite interesting that so many players prefer to register late for these things. When I play Live Poker, it does my head in if I am not seated 10 minutes before the start. Does not seem to bother Mr Hellmuth, mind.

By 9.15pm, the number had shot up to 33 – BIG sighs of relief were audible in Leeds, & not just because their football team scraped a draw in injury time.
First Break @ 9.55pm
39 now, the number is creeping up.
TEDSON, who has a very high ROI on Sky Poker over a relatively small sample, headed the field, & was to remain in the van throughout. Sticky Solly was being very aggro, refusing to fold any paint, as is his style.
Dewi-cool is someone you may be familiar with if you have ever played an APAT Event, a very Welsh Welshman, fluent in the Welsh language, & famously grumpy as is so often the case with the elderly folks. (See also EssexPhil).
The Boy Nutter was headed for an early bath it seemed, with just 2,000 chips.
IanSimpson bluffed once too often, too soon, Limp2Lose lost, (no sign of his Grandad, Stay orGo), & mattprrawn was able to get an early night, which, of course, Accountants like to do. I sort of imagine them having carpet slippers, pipe, hot water bottle & undressing in the dark.

Look who has arrived at the top table – scotty77. The boy has been on the mother of all downswings, & whilst nobody in poker deserves or gets my sympathy, he;s due a result, as he’s a great kid.
DAVEMCDAID, a bit of a Course & Distance specialist, won’t be troubling the judges this week, he’s a goner already. Fair play to him, he was still railing throughout, & shouting on his mate. (Note singular). A night to forget for jordz16, I'm afraid.

Just moments after Essexphil departed the scene of the crime, mkgunner followed him out of the door. Still, he will be able to watch The Arsenal smash 5 or 6 past Ludo Razdg (who are you?) tonight. Mention of Arsenal reminds me that TommyD is also AWOL tonight, probably watching Spurs thrash little Bayer Leverkusen 0-0. Good result that, by 5pur2 standards.

In a 3 way coup, mildsteal10 gets it in with the worst of it but does a full SCOOPIO, & we lose blewnote in 9th place.

Very next hand broccoli makes a move with the 6-7 but gets his timing all wrong, as SkootaT has them jacks, & he ain’t ever folding here.
Remarkably, johnny_e found the pre-flop fold in a 3 way coup getting around 6/1. Turned out to be a great fold (he had A-J) but it raised an eyebrow or two. johnny-e was amongst the very last to register, as it happens.

A word or two about mildsteal10.
He satted into this, & generally just plays smallball stuff. His first notable cash on Sky Poker was in the Primo – anyone remember that? - & he qualified for 2 UKPC’s, as well as winning a Mini BH a while back. A genuinely lovely chap, took his exit well last night & wished everyone good luck. Smashing bloke, & I hope to see him garner a few more nice results, I love to see the “little guys” do well.
