In Response to Re: More live event qualifiers? : Cheeky! But on a serious note, one thing you must consider when thinking about any live event is that you will probably have the company of me (see now i know you're smiling) and even (wait for it)......(drum roll).....I may bring along....the wonderful...the beautiful.....Jamielou (yeay!) xx

    Morning Mother,

By chance I stumbled across this photo of the Degen Daughter this morning, along with you. Have to say, you look good considering your age.

interesting post  is not possible to do a live passport idea lets say the target what the qualifies wil win is not a seat but a sum of money that needs to be spent on a live event. so satalight qualifiers will win a passport worth lets say 2k and there will be t and c in place saing this must consist of 4 500 games for example u not doing sat for a specific event but rather a sum of money for live poker. feel this will get round all loop holes regarding which comp u going into only problem i see with this is someone on the sky front will have to make sure that there actually play the comps and not sure if that is enforcible. i been lucky enough to be on a 2 sky holidays this year vegas and punta cana and i must 2nd there really  luck after u and wish there were more events as such but understand logisticly its difficult.

4500 games, this sounds like a priority club only path.I think Sky like a " bit of a do " so you would need a fair few to win these passports.

I think he's saying, win a £2k package which could be used to play 4 different £500 live comps (although in reality rake would mean it needs to be a 2.2k package cos it'd probably be 550 x 4) cos there aren't many 2k BI live comps in the UK at all.

I still think that would be pushing people to competitors though cos obviously any £500+ BI live comp in the UK is run by a competitor, sky just wouldn't be tying you down to which competitor they push you to.

I was gonna say it would also be impossible to force someone to use it on MTT BIs if it was given as cash but I'm pretty sure Sky used to do something very similar for Prio members (or was it TSP only) back in the day where I think they got their rake back doubled but the 2Nd half had to be used on live comps

In Response to Re: More live event qualifiers? : I really don't know how to answer that Rose..... I have tried to explain in great detail in my previous replies why Sky Poker have chosen, for the past few years, not to run SPT's. If they were so minded, I daresay they could & would. "Amateurs" could arrange it, I could arrange it, Sky Poker could if they so wished but we all have different agenda's, don't you see? Sky Poker have managed something like 40 "Live Events" for their players (MasterClass, SPUKT, SPT, UKPC, VLV & Punta Cana) & I like to think have done them rather well. So well in fact that the players continually hanker for more, which tends to support that view. The Business, however, is best placed to decide how they look after players. At present, it is clearly their view that they do it in other ways.   As I stated before, the book is not closed on SPT's, they may or may not return.   I get that they are popular, just as rake free poker be popular, but that would not necessarily make it a good business case, would it?

Good to hear - It all sounds a bit complicating for me but would be gr8 if they could sort something - GL

Hi All,  thanks for all the input.  One of my main aims was to have a chat about live events, and how we may get
involved with Sky events, or if a rivals, then wearing the sky clothing / logo to promote the site would be a
     priority .
I know from chating at my local casino games that not many folk realise Sky Poker have any
satellites to live events. I think by playing live and showing the the logo will help promote Sky Poker ,
and more players should help us all.
      Cheers.

In Response to Re: More live event qualifiers? : Ha, seriously nothing would make me happier than to hook up again with the Bury Family. Have you seen the Jake Cody VLogs? Worth a watch, very good they are. And in case some doubt it, I loved the SPT's to bits.

Really like this latest one. Back to his roots - literally including a tour of Rochdale and the kitchen table he used to play online at etc.

    Fascinating (no spolies)

I thought I'd better post this here too as I don't suppose many people look at the SKY Poker Live, TV & UKPC thread anymore.......
Sadly this category might as well be deleted now

....... I think I can speak for most people who, as I'm sure you realize, all enjoyed SKY Poker Live TV , but more so the UKPC, where it gave us the opportunity to meet a substantial amount of the SKY POKER Community in person, and also the fantastic members of the SKY Poker team who attended the live events too.
Is this going to be 'the thin end of the wedge'? only time will tell, and hopefully SKY Betting & Gaming will see that a large percentage of us want to have access to live tournament(s) and meet up in the UK.... unfortunately we have to look elsewhere for this now......
As I write this, unbelievably 'The Last Miners' is on BBC1..... how apt, and also how sad too

EDIT: Having watched the end of the above programme the people featured all managed to get jobs/work elsewhere so Good Luck to all..... Times do move on and people have to move elsewhere, but as 'the last of the Miners' said..... "I will always be a Coal Miner"
