In Response to Re: ICE_TIGER RYDER CUP: FOURSOMES PAIRINGS REVEALED. MATCHES START 11AM ON JAN 2ND. STILL MAY HAVE ROOM FOR ONE MORE PLAYER ON EACH TEAM : He's staying with me over the New Year, so I can make sure he's up. He will be up in time to silent rail Ice_Tiger at 11am for sure. But good to start him in the 4th match as it takes him an hour or so to come around. Smart move! :=) Posted by StayOrGo
Looking forward to this, hope I can give the PLO8 Champ a run for his money! Good luck to all. Posted by Snuffer
Yes best of luck Snuffer, should be a good match that one.
The South may need a potential reserve for GELDY if he can't make it, and also the North will need a replacement for THISLTEDU for the singles, as he is unavailable after 3pm.
Hopefully we won't have any "no-shows" on the day, but we may need some contingency planning, just in case.
Just a quick reminder for players to "sign in" on this thread when they wake up on 2nd Jan.
Proceedings will start off at 11.00am on the dot, with a one game captain's match (£1.05 Turbo H/Up SNG)
Donna and I will sit out the first blind level (3 mins) in memory of Ice_Tiger.
Please do show your respects by railing silently during this time. Feel free to post your respects to Ice_Tiger in the chat box, after the three minutes is up.
Donna: I will touch base with you on FaceBook at about 10.45am on 2nd, as it will be important to start this match on time.
Regarding the Fourballs and Singles picks, Donna and I will synch up, and the plan is to release the FourBalls pairings at 12.30pm (First Match 1.01pm) and the Singles pairings at 3pm (First match 3.31pm) on the 2nd Jan.
If you have any specific t-time requests or game format preferences, please PM your captain. The schedule as it currently stands is on the opening post spreadsheet.
Unfortunately GELDY can't make it. However IrishRose has kindly volunteered to replace him for the Foursomes.
Rose is unable to play the singles however, as too is thisltedu for the North. So I suggest we abandon match 16 unless we can find another reserve for each team.
What ever is best and less stressful lol Posted by Darkangel7
I agree D.
Unless we happen to stumble across two reserves on the day, we can just omit the last singles match.
I suggest if no-one has come forward by 2pm on 2nd, then we just omit it. Although it may be possible that two new faces see what is going on, on the day and want to join in.
However, in fairness to both teams, we will decide on this no later than 2pm on the day.
Can the captains not just play in that spot? Posted by MAXALLY
Hi Max.
With Misty being unavailable, I am already a playing captain, so it would mean me playing twice, and I think D would just prefer to organise rather than play.
However in theory we could have one of the players from the early singles matches play twice.
What does everyone think?
Miss match 16 out, or allow one player on each team to play two singles matches?
Hi Don. All the games are £1.05 Heads Up SNG's. In the foursomes you will play five games. In the fourballs you will play two lots of three games. In the singles you will play six games. So a total of 17 heads up games. So if someone managed to lose all 17 games, it would cost them £17.85, but I hope this won't happen. Hope this is OK. Cheers, G Posted by StayOrGo
Thanks , that will be ok........ have been out for a duck before and not to Sainsbury's

I have every confidence in you goldon.
I'm sure you won't be out of pocket much, if at all.

Happy New Year to all.
If it helps I can delay my other social function for a bit and play an early single. Also happy to just sit it out if that works better.
Are these speed HU? I play 5 against Phill regardless correct? Posted by Sir-Gary
Hi Sir-Gary, yes as thisltedu explained, you play 5 Speed H/Up SNG's against EsssexPhil, and while you are doing that, thisltedu plays 5 games against MonkeyGLB. The scores of the two matches are then combined.
In theory you could stop if your "team" or the opposing "team" reach six games in total, but it's probably easiest/best to just each play all five games regardless.
The two games will run concurrently, so you can keep an eye on your partner and rail if you want, or just focus on your own game, up to you.
In the trial run, there was a lot of railing by team-mates etc, so hopefully, the same will happen here. It really is a team event, which we don't often get in Poker. So will hopefully be a nice experience for all.
Up to you Graham but I can play till 4.30 if it helps. Posted by thisltedu
Hi Donald, I am going to leave it as six singles matches now, but if there is a no show from the North then perhaps you can play the early one. So we'll see who turns up.
