    OK, it's a rollover of £4,748 and Ludlow card cofigurations meet criteria, so I say we GO.

    I anticipate a pool of at least 15K and unless two or more real freak results occur it should be won.

    So it looks like almost £5K of value and the potential edge we may have by having a wider perm than others.

    Correct me if I am wrong, but the Jackpot is always at an English, Welsh or Scottish Meeting right. Not Irish?

    Otherwise they would choose The Curragh and it would be a NO-GO.

    Although I am fairly sure the Jackpot is mainland meetings only.

    OK, Ludlow it is.

    I am hoping the small carry over and small field card entices lots of individuals to attempt the Jackpot while other syndicates give it a miss, as the rollover is too small for them.

    I do think there is value here as we can do a wider perm than most individuals.
     
    So a combination of a few fancied horses winning and a couple of "mid priced" ones that we have in our perm "could" work out OK.

    With this particular card configuration, I rate our chance of success possibly as high as 1 in 4. (Bold Statement I know)

    I estimate, if we were to cash, our mean average return = 10 * total stake.

    So looks +ev to me, hence why I think we should go for it.

    It will depend on where the non-runners come from. If no NR's in leg 5, I would like to keep 5 selections as it's a tricky leg.

    Although could go with 4 and have the 5th one in the secondary perm. It would be good to have coverage on 6 horses in that leg between the two perms (assuming no non runners)

    But I could do that via a 4 in each. Something like A,B,C,E in the main perm and A,B,D,F in the secondary.

    So we have the fav and 2nd fav in both perms and two others in each, however it's the horses C,D,E and F that will be under-represented in the pool, so there's the value, as they will be the ones, that if win, will knock lots of people out of the pool.

    I am actually trying to cover 80% of the betting market in each leg, hence why I have stuck my neck out at a 1 in 4 chance.

    80% to the power of 6 = 26.2%.

    So statistically if the odds are a true reflection of their chance and I cover 80% of Betting Market in each leg we have a 26.2% chance of a cash. (Hence the wide perm even in small fields)

    Well it's the jumps at Ludlow, so no draw bias to consider.

    Weather at Ludlow is a little rain overnight then drying out. So the going will probably remain GOOD, with an outside chance of it being GOOD-TO-SOFT in places.

    Selections on OP. (Subject to last minute change)

    Had to make some really tough removals at the end to bring cost down:

    Namely:

    2.30 Herbert Park
    4.00 Fair Lock
    4.00 Un Beau Roman

    Hope they don't come back to bite us.

    When included total perm cost /> £600. Not sure if I have made right decision to reduce, but we'll see.

    Bit worried about not having Rouge Devils in the main perm in the next, but no-one napped it and the three in the main perm were all napped by at least one person.

    Also apologies to Roger if Herbert Park wins, I know you napped it, but perm cost too great and one had to go.

    never in any doubt and right not to have Nicholls horse I didn't fancy it and most of the others as well. Have a feeling if trained by someone else it wouldn't have been paper fav.
