No way are man city going to break the top four. NO WAY! Full of overpaid mercenaries, and lets face it, who from their team would get in that of any of the top four? Not too many.

    1. Man utd
    2. Chelsea
    3. Liverpool
    4. Arsenal
    5. Everton
    6. Man city
    7. Aston villa
    8. Fulham

only reason i put Man City in top 4 was based on  50-50 basis they will either make or break Man. Utd have sold their best players so i think they will struggle to keep up with Chelsea &  Liverpool

good luck with the season m8

    Given
    Onuoha
    Barry
    Richards
    Ireland
    Wright-Phillips
    Adebayor
    Bellamy
    Robinho
    Tevez

It`s all a matter of opinions, but all the above players have either played for or have been tapped up by the top four.

Agree we probably won`t make top four THIS season though.

Given maybe arsenal would have him
    Onuoha lol be serious
    Barry yes
Richards over-rated, very over-rated, possibly arsenal
    Ireland nope
Wright-Phillips chelsea reject, can't see him breaking into any of top 4 teams tho
Adebayor overrated, would get in arsenal team tho
    Bellamy lol, come on
    Robinho probably, yes
Tevez maybe he would get into the arsenal team, but there is hardly much striking talent there, just eduardo really, dunno if u can count bentdner lol

The sooner man city get Dunne out of their defence the better. What a big, clumsy waste of space that guy is. So, so poor.
  • edited July 2009
Not gonna get into an argument player for player but I will say if Onuoha stays fit and plays all season he will make the England squad for SA. Dunne wont get a game if we sign Toure and/or Lescott.

City are ruining football anyway though, so who cares?

     Predictions + reasons for Prem.

       1. CHELSEA     If Deco stays fit.
       2. LIVERPOOL If backroom mess doesnt affect them.
       3. MAN UTD    No one to win it for them, unless C + L hand it to them.(they probably will)
       4. VILLA         If they remember the season doesnt end in January.
       5. ARSENAL    Lost what they had, just plodders now.
       6. EVERTON    Moysey magic will keep them up there.
       7. MAN CITY   Theyll score some goals so get some points.
       8. SPURS       Could be dark horses. Harry will keep them on their toes.

4th-8th could all be within 5 points of each other, so exact order difficult.
(I must check the handicap list betting)

Top 3 should be within 5 points of each other aswell.

EXciting season ahead for a change. Itll be like the championship is every season.

          hi all

there are some good predictions so far quite a few have gone for the usual top 4 but i have my doubts

MAN.UTD- are to footie what phil talyor is to darts but with them selling there best players i think it will take fergie a season to rebuild

CHELSEA- form up & down until the LEGEND Guss took over stopped the rocking great run in now have a good manager for full season Team in form

LIVERPOOL- do great in EUROPE did really well in prem last season improving all the time by xmas we will see if last season's form was a one of

ARSENAL- sold some of there good players would say there manhatten would show a massive downswing for last 5 seasons think they will struggle with EVERTON/ASTON VILLA & SPURS  i wouldn't be surprissed if SPURS finished above them this season

After much deliberating I've come to the following conclusions.

PREM - Chelsea @ 9/4 - Man Utd will be there or thereabouts but I think they'll really miss Ronaldo & Tevez & Liverpool will continue to be too inconsistent and drop points when they really shouldn't.

CHAMPIONSHIP - Middlesbrough @ 5/1 - If Ashley & Newcastle had sorted themselves out earlier in the summer they would've been my pick by a mile. Unfortunately for them they'll be very lucky to get in the play offs. For football's sake I really hope they don't end up going the same way as Leeds, Sheff Weds & Forest. Other picks for what will be another close race are WBA, Sheff Utd & Ipswich but I just think that Boro will be too good for that division.

LEAGUE 1 - Norwich @ 7/1 - I think Leeds will also be up there this time but Norwich played some good stuff at times last season & will be very difficult to beat at Carrow Road.

LEAGUE 2 - Bradford @ 8/1 - Probably the most difficult pick of the lot here in what is a really open division. TBH, I think there's probably the best part of 8-10 teams that are capable of winning this league but I can't see the Bantams capitulating again like they did at the end of last season. Rochdale & Rotherham are also good picks.

CONFERENCE - Luton @ 5/2 - They SHOULD really walk this league but Cambridge will also be there or thereabouts too.

That little lot currently pays 4,913/1 for outrights so I've gone for £2.50 each way which returns a massive £12,285 if all 5 actually win their respective divisions. At least with the each way bet I get 1/4 odds for a top 3 finish (top 2 for the Prem.

FWIW, I think a safe mid table position for my beloved Hammers and TBH, given our lack of funds for signings I'll be delighted with the top 10.

I'll get all excited as the MIGHTY WHITES start off like a house on fire...

Then it'll be all back to normal towards the back end when they either scrape into the play off and lose probably in the final or failing that just miss out on them altogether :(

It's not what I want, I'd love them to run away with L1 but I am used to being let down having supported them so long

Well, I believe that this pre-season has witnessed the beginning of a steady decline of the Premier league as the worlds best league.

Arsenal have sold two of their top, top players and not replaced them.

Man utd have sold their best player and released another important one. They have signed a crocked former England international. Park and Fletcher will play an important part this season as they did last- LMAO. Is it any wonder Barca blitzed them? Aging stalwarts Giggs and Scholes ( will they ever leave? ) have not yet been adequately replaced.

Liverpool have sold a class act CM player. They have signed......erm.....Glen Johnson. Former 3rd choice right back for Chelsea. They are being strongly linked with Christian 'im one of the worst players to ever play for Juventus' Poulson. Deary me.

Chelsea have an aging squad. One new face in Zirkov. Hmmm, not really much to say on that one.

Aston Villa, thanks to Martin O'neil, appear intent on signing the entire pool of English professional footballers. Let me tell you Martin, Englands first 11 could'nt even beat Man City. So stop now.

Man City are just buying names, and not especially big ones at that. Take any players worth, multiply it by three and thats the price you charge those jokers.

The rest are not even worth a mention.

After that we have the tax situation, introduced by the National Socialist Party, erm, i mean New Labour.

Poor old Johnny footballer on 100k a week in Spain will take home approx 75k. Over here it will very soon be 50k. This means to match the players wages in this country requires the club to fork out 150k!

The end is nigh in my opinion.
