The Return of the £22 deepstack

This great tourney is about to hopefully return. Now we need to ensure that the numbers get and stay high for it to succeed.  The success of Dan's deepstack on Sunday's and the monthly Sky Sports tourney, as well as the sleepstack and double stacks have shown that there is a market of interest.

Monday seems to be a great day for the £22 deepie to be on - with satelittes running through the day. Perhaps even specialist sngs where winner gets entry could be tried?

Is 1 day OK per week for this tourney?

Is there enough forum regs who will play?

It was a really popular game a year ago, with high numbers when Tikay and Rich played.

Could we all get behind its re-introduction and make it a big success?

Maybe try it once a week and when it takes off (fingers crossed) then increase it to 2 or 3 nights.

Wouldn't be able to buy in for £22 each time but I like the sound of the Sit n Go Satellites...possibly 6 seater £4...1seat etc.

loved this tourney but maybe twice a week, say mon and thursday (could get tv coverage on thursday to help with numbers?)   I can't make mondays but would still like to see this tournament back.

I think one night a week to start with Monday sounds good. I loved this tourney when we had 30 plus runners, it was well structured and the standard was very high.

If there is sufficient interest, the Tourney could be reinstated with immediate effect. We all puffed it up relentlessly previously, but interest gradually waned no matter how hard we tried to promote it. From 30 & 40 runners every night, it gradually fell away, & eventully it stuggled to get 10 runners. Sky Poker originally offered a Guarantee on it, £500 or £300 I think, & as numbers fell, & they kept subsidising it, they understandably lowered the Guarantee week by week, for which they were roundly criticised.

With modifications - perhaps as a featured Tourney just once a week, or twice a week, or whatever - maybe that would rejuvenate interest.

So, yes, the Tourney could be revived, & I am happy to speak to the Suits & ask them to get it started. But I will not ask them to offer a Guarantee at this stage, because that might produce resistance to the idea, given how much they spent in subsidising it previously.

So, let's allow the thread to run it's course for a few days, & see where it takes us, & who wants what. Based on that, I am more than happy to "sell" the idea to Bernie.

I would appreciate this one returning and agree that Monday night would be the ideal slot for it.

There has been some players who have made it known that for one reason or another cannot make the Thursday night tournaments and also those players who also miss out on Sunday's Primo.

Some satellites throughout the week end would IMO increase numbers and hopefully with some promotion, the tournament would regularly attract a decent number of runners.

A bit off topic and probably a doolally idea, but....

How about making the Primo a proper deepstack tourney? 5K chips, 15 minute clock....

Just a thought.

Dont think it will ever happen because of it being a televised main event but i would much prefer it to have that structure lol

Yeah monday's are good because tbh there isn't a good mtt on - except for that donkey hunter - which i h8 so this would be good for me. Even a thursday is good if it was on - especially if it is the BH again - I H8 THEM!!

it would be great 2 get this going again, but we need about 30 runnners. i was thinking who ever the ptp that nite should play it, coz when one of them are in a try they seem 2 get more runners
