edited June 2010 in Poker Chat
do the people who were still in the tournament and sat there for 2 hours get anything extra or are we treat the same as everyone?

    Hi guys,

I can confirm that we will be re-running the World Cup Kick Off Freeroll tournaments on SUNDAY 13TH JUNE at 17:15 and 17:30 respectively.

I understand that many of you are aggrieved by the decision not to host a separate tournament for the 194 players who remained when the game appeared to freeze. I completely sympathise with you as battling through a field of 2000 runners is no mean feat. But the fact is there were a number of people affected by connection issues from 7pm onwards and for this reason we feel the fairest way to deal with these unfortunate circumstances is to rerun the tournament.

As a means of apology we will be doubling the prize pool by running two tournaments with 1000 runners in each. This means you have a better chance of winning some amazing tournament seats.

All players who registered for the tournament last night will be re-entered at random into either tournament. We will be contacting you shortly to provide you with further information. In the meantime you can check the tournament lobby to see which tournament you are playing in.

Once again I can only offer our most sincere apologies.

Good luck in the tournament this time around,
    Dan

what...... was sat in 36th place at the time with less than 200 players left why is it now 2 tables of 1000 why just not put the ones left in..... otherwise its a waste of time.....and totaly pointless and unfair

plus i wont be here on sunday so how will that work.....its a bit unfair
  • edited June 2010
i second that. i was 55th with a good chance of winning something. sky messed up for the 194 players left. only these 194 people should be rewarded!

i really cant see y 2000 people are coming back into it with 194 left its a joke....really just taking the p out of it all...... easy enought to start it on where it paused with the stacks we had....all it will take is some time to set it up.....why not do that........to many probs on here at least make a right choice here and get some respect back please

if your going to double the prize pool by putting 2 tournaments on then thats very generous but why don't you just make one a re-run open for all to enter as per the original and run the other for the 194 people that had played for 2 hours to get where they were. We know sky have the info on who was there and what stacks they had so just restart from where they got to and run the other tournament as the appology to the masses. There should be no reason that the guy sitting atop 194 people after playing for that length of time should be reset and have to beat a thousand runners AGAIN. we all know how unlikely it is that those in good position last night will be able to replicate that in a field that size

and im not moaning caos i was winning, i didn't even play this one but i think this is a grossly unfair way to sort this

Will skypoker reply to us or ignore us?

I THINK THE ONES THAT WHERE LEFT SHOULD HAVE THERE OWN WORLD CUP FREE ROLL AND DO A SEPERATE FREE ROLL, FOR THE OTHERS BUT ONLY ONE 1000 ENTRY ONE, DOES THAT SOUND FAIR ENOUGH TO ANYONE, BE INTERESTED TO NOW

  • edited June 2010
Pretty disgusting really, battled your way down to last 200 out of 2000 players, wasted over 2 hours and then they decide to put you back to square one, that sounds very fair.

I was still in the tourne when it crashed last night. Yes i was not doing that great as only had 9,100 chips but it all seems a bit pointless playing for over an hour if you are going to reschedule the tourne and open it up to anyone.
Personally the 194 left in should be invited to play again.

  • edited June 2010
i got down to about 500th but do agree the 194 left should be allowed to play the rest of the tourny for the 36seats by themselfs  only fiar as that is when the system went down. everyone befor that was out fiar and square.

Didn't this tournament start at 7pm?

I am a bit gutted with this too,i too was still in when tech probs occured, was mid position and doing fine and also waited around hoping the tourney would restart,so to hear that everyone is allowed back in does seem a bit strange and unfair to me,

this was only a suggestion because of what sky dan wrote, i absalutely agree the one`s left in should have there own freeroll, i don`t agree with the way you wrote the reply i am not the one who iis trying fix with what went wrong, i take offense IF THE REPLY was directed at what i wrote ?

Aren't people mixing up the tournament crashing with people having connection problems?

People were having intermittent or no connection for a long time before it crashed.

The 194 still in didn't really 'battle their way through' nearly 2000 players if 1500 of them couldn't play.

I don't know, probably not that high. But I was just illustrating the point that the OP post said it was due to people having connection problems over an extended period of time but every single reply has been talking about when it actually crashed.

Absolute rubbish!, nearly all the players i encountered during the tournament were present and playing, there was a very small amount of players that were away, just people who had registered and forgot or couldnt make it, probably less away players than i usually encounter during other free rolls. I think that fact that we havent got a load of players on here ranting and raving about why they couldnt connect to the tournament only confirms my point.

Sounds spot on mate, i dont see why people who made it down to the last few should have to battle through another 1000 people all over again, its simply not fair.

Well it was the Sky representative who said it was down to connection problems.

But obviously one person playing the tournament would have a much better overview of the whole situation than the site itself so I defer to your greater knowledge.

Do you not think it a bit strange that if people had all these connection problems that no-one
has come on here to whinge about it?

Were you even involved in the tournament? no? then i dont see what its got to do with you anyway

I had connection problems from the very start of this tournament, screen freezing, bets timing out and sometimes total loss of connection. I still managed to be in there at the end as did almost 200 others, so to allow the the 2000 original entrants back into this tournament is complete nonsense.

Only the players that were still in at the time of the crash should be allowed entry into the rescheduled game. Is it  impossible for Skypoker to restart the game at the same blind level, and, give everyone the amount of chips they had at the time ?

If the game cannot be restarted where it finshed then a new tourney should be played but only with the players that were still in.
Anything other than this is a gross injustice to the 200 or so who were still playing at the time of the problem.

Another way would be for Skypoker to put the remaining names into a raffle and just draw 32 out.
