Tonights Show Mastercash with Sarah and James The Hartigan Paradox

edited August 2010 in Poker Chat
Evenin' all!  Hope you're well!  I've felt better but that might have something to do with the kebab I found myself tucking into at 2am this morning (you can't buy class)  Having grown up in a die hard west ham household there could've been a better start to the premiership today too but I'm ready for a night of top poker action and hope you are too!.

We're all about the cold hard cash tables tonight from 8 and we're guaranteed to see some top action in top of the pots.  It's great having the screens right in front of us for full on interaction now, any comments you have on the cash hands we go through, any questions post away and we'll get to them as they come in.

Thought I'd start a 'dream table' topic before the show starts.  I was asked who might be my dream dinner guests once and I think for banter reasons my choices would remain the same for a dream table:  Will Ferell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and I might have to sit myself opposite Bradley Cooper just so I could stare at him.... I've no idea if any of those actor/comics are poker players but it'd be a blast regardless.

As for James Hartigan of course he'd get an invite too; 'The Hartigan Paradox' was mentioned by Ozzie on the forums this week and has been joyously jumped on by James who thinks its a terrific title for a film!  What would the plot be though?  'The Hartigan Paradox'  I'm thinking Bourne identity style with Orford and Tikay playing Bond esque villains, LM as the kick asss accomplice, I might be on to something here....  Any further plot lines welcome in amongst tonights banter!  We'll see you from 8

Sarah xx

I've been reliably informed that we'll start with the £0.25/£0.50 tables, before moving onto some £0.50/£1.00 action.

    Hi Guys,

I see another re-make along the lines of the Karate Kid.

The Poker Kid, with Rich as the kid, Tikay, Mr miyagi, James, the evil enemy.
Its a story of the wimpy Rich getting his bum kicked,on the tables, by the aggressive evil James. on day Rich meets the ageing guru Tikay, who teaches Rich the the passive, patient skills to gain revenge and rules the tables.
The wax on, wax off, changed to bet on, fold off.
Pity this is a bit to much of a fantasy story to eve make it to production.

    Keep up the great work

Ugh I hate the idea of using software. Its the most tilting thing in the world, knowing that people with less talent, feel and instincts than me, can exploit my strength, by looking at stats provided by the computer.

I pRay sky poker never allows this stuff!!! - We have enough multi tabling robots. Players such as Negranu, who have such skill, natural talent, and flair for the game, shud be able to use this edge over other players.

People say anyone can learn poker, which is true, but I think some skills, reading skills, are natural, and shud give anyone lucky enough to be blessed with these skills, an edge on the table, wether that be online, or live.

PLZ DNT BRING THE SOFTWARE TO SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    lol.

[  ] no skill or knowledge goes into using software

edit if you notice negreanua has announced recently that he realises he sucks compared to the internet generation and that they have a lot to teach him. he has been using forums to better himself discussing his hands with online players.

    IT IS THE SAME GAME

what is tilting is knowing that live will never let you see the long run!!! sigh

    1 last question....

althought negranu says it helps him millions, as im sure it did....

    would he rather.....

    a) every online player uses it

    b) it be banned so no1 can use it?

Im sure you and he will agree, that the software being available to everyone, would reduce his skill edge at every online table he plays.

It just levels the playing field, in a game which is so hard to get an edge at in the first place.
  • edited August 2010
I think he'd rather go for B.  It's just a case of staying on the same playing field as everybody else.  Everyone had to read Super System 20 odd years ago because everybody else had read it.  Tracking software is just the next stage of that.

It doesn't level the playing field if some people cant/dont know how to use it.
