Good idea, but if sky booked the hotel and just give spending money, all the winners could be in the same hotel Must have bar that stays open late of course .
What are the chances of having qualifying packages. For example say a £250 package to give enough
money for 1 nights hotel and petrol money. Could have these once a week say on a sunday and make it a deep stack. £25+£2.50 so 1 in 10 win package? Anyone else be interested in this? Posted by BIGSHANN

+1 no petrol.just rail or coach ticket as i would be over the dd limit.del
I am considering adding 150-300/25 in between 150-300 and 200-400/25. 250-500 isn't a level in UK live tournaments. In my opinion adding 150-300/25 is better than 75-150, but .... Will advise when that has been run past the powers that be All feeback on this welcomed, and I can pass it on.... The issue isn't that Sky staff won't stay longer!! tikay is Mr Duracell and I'm Ever Ready (cheaper and less reliable than duracell) Posted by SPT
i think we need that extra level in the legs as the last few have finished quite early,it seems you can sit tihjt for a bit then all of a sudden you only have 9bb's.i know its a long day for the crew though,so maybe aim for a 1am finish?(i think tkshould still be able to get his cocoa by then)
also you said the legs will be qualify only but then said they all had alternates?
Other posters have mentioned the desire to get more regular players and to encourage qualifying rather than direct buy-in. For the Final I will admit that i played 1 qualifier, then decided just to bite the bullet and buy-in direct, since I really wanted to play and didnt have the bank roll to play 15+ qualifiers in a short (couple of months, was it?) period.
However if a league situation was set up, I would be happier to pay a regular amount to play qualifiers with a points based system for results in each game.
I've done some quick Excel wizadry at no consultancy charge to Sky..... Let's assume that there are say 25 online qualifier rounds between now and the final next year (one a fortnight if you started now), £10 +£1 each time. There are 700 total "regular" players for which in any one qualifier 200 pay to play that round. At the end of 25 rounds this gives Sky the equivalent buy in of 160 places at £250. Say that the top 150 in the league standings go straight through to the Final. Then say those ranked 151-300 get to play a free lucky loser 1:10 satellite to get the next 15 places. I think that more than 200 would pay each round, an average of 300 would generate 200 places, thus if more than 300 was the average each round the pot for the final could grow really nicely (if league places capped at 200max), and/or hotel and travel package deals could be thrown in as 1:10 specials
Of course top up the total numbers of players and pot by having 1:5, 1:10 satellites nearer the time as per this year, which keeps those not wishing to play a league happy and new players to Sky who join in say 6 months time and miss the early rounds an opportunity. Of course non regular/site players getting either direct buy-in last minute online/at the casino, but by then much fewer places would be available this way?
Trick is to not have too many qualifiers at too high a buy-in so that only those with large bank roll play everytime and accumulate most points. With 25 rounds x£10 per qualifier I am sure that most of us will feel that we are in with a good shot of making it (better than 1:10 percieved odds). This league model could also work for all of the SPT Events, if say there were 10 league games, albeit a bigger buy-in required.
OK, so what does everything think of that? PS for the Sky team - having a league structure works really well for your cashflow :-)
All legs will have alternates yes, in line with any other live event.
No direct entries before the day, then last chance sng live satellite on the day if seats available, then alternates for the first 2-3 levels as players get knocked out

er, very nice, but very complicated!
I would imagine qualifying would stay as is for the time being..expecting most legs to sell out in advance via the exisiting qualfying system

Thanks Maxally, Knew i could rely on you LOL, hopefully see you there mate
It's been good to see the return of the £5.20 freezeout qualifiers to the semis, i just wondered what people thought of this idea...
Would it be possible to win a token to a semi final so that you have a choice of which semi-final to enter. The reason behind that is sometimes i have found time to play a £5.20 QF but haven't because i know i won't be able to play in the semi later that night, and other times have been online when the semi is about to play but wasn't around earlier when the qualifiers were on and BR won't permit me to buy in direct!
If you knew you could win a token to use for a semi final later on in the week etc it would give you more scope.
Maybe it is something that could be applied to other satellite tournaments as well?

Which is the unlucky venue to be knocked off the tour then with going to Blackpool this year? I hope their is still a visit to Newcastle as I was looking forward to that weekend! How long until the full official list is released please?

My hunch is that Glasgow will be knocked off, the casino did a poor job and the qualifiers were not popular, I know that problems at the casino were noted by Sky staff.
My guess is Blackpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Luton and Cardiff
