how can you beat that?

edited November 2010 in Area 51
blinds 100/50. raise up to 600 with jj. get called by 87 they hit trip 8's. short of being an idiot who just shoves on every level with every hand i wanna play don't really see a way out of it. when people will call with anything then hit can see how people just get fed up with it here.. do i start calling with that & j3 (yesterdays lucky little munchkin).
not gonna say it's rigged cos i don't think it is but play bad/play good it doesn't seem to make a difference. and variance is all well and good but losing out in tourney after tourney in a row  when you have them crushed is dis-heartening in the extreme.

What you have to remember Poker is like having a relationship with a woman. Every so often everything runs smoothly but a lot of the time no matter what you do you will end up in trouble!

cheers m8 but i get enough aggro off my girl without poker as a bit on the side. either gonna jack it in or just play the big tourneys against the better quality fields.

TAKE A BREAK M8 . GETTING CALLS LIKE THAT ARE ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN AND MOST OF THE TIME ARE WELCOME.WE ALL GO THROUGH PHASES WHERE TIME AND TIME AGAIN , THESE STUPID CALLS GET REWARDED.

don't know how  to do that dohhh i'm not exactly savvy computer wise.. and i did say i don't think its rigged so not a conspiracy. and good luck to beating the fish i'd be out there with a harpoon & trawler boat if i thought it would help. but  aint happening for me. i read one of your posts yesterday and i respect you come on here to help and seen you on tv and that was specifically why i raised it up so big and still getting it handed to me.

If I offered you this bet, would you take it?

I have a team, Blackpool, and you have a team, Manchester United.

Each week, both our teams play their normal premiership fixture. The bet is, that whoever's team has the best result that weekend, receives 1 pound off the other person.

There will be some weeks, when Blackpool sneak a win at home to Wigan, and Manchester United lose at Chelsea. On these weeks, which happen very occasionally, I will take 1 pound from you. I will occasionally get lucky. However, the majority of the time, Im gonna be handing £1 a week over to you.

At the end of the season, it's inevitable that you are gonna end up making a profit from me, even though some weeks I will get lucky and sneak the win.

Moral of the story - when you're running bad, you've probably drawn Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in consecutive weeks, whilst Blackpool have beaten Fulham, Wigan and Blackburn at home.

It's a freak run of results, which cannot and will not go on forever.

You would take my bet right? - Then keep playing these mugs, you will end up in profit.

i appreciate your input. but i've done all i can to improve and be smart and the mugs are draining me of all enjoyment for it.

    Because they're sitting grinding six tables,12 hours a day,7 days a week.
The odds are going to run in their favour eventually,as you like to say
100 million hands later they will be laughing.
But for us mere mortals who actually work for a living and maybe only play
tournys 2 or 3 nights a week it may NEVER even itself out.

BUT I WILL BE BACK BECAUSE I LOVE THE GAME AND THE GOOD TIMES WILL HAPPEN EVENTUALLY ONCE MORE  . HOPE TO SHARE A TABLE WITH YOU SOON AGAIN , BEST WISHES PILL.

Bobby, I was playing live cash tonight and a guy drew out on me with a straight vs my top set costing me a big pot - what did he call my big raise+bet pre&post flop with? Q4 offsuit! (And a lot of people say they only call with this kind of hand online).

What really stung though, was that I was playing above my bankroll and therefore my comfort zone. Of course I wanted him to call, I knew he would pay me off with garbage -  but when you're playing above your limits, the suckouts really hurt - this is the key to poker.

Always play comfortably within your limits, keep improving on your game and try to build your roll slowly, it'll pay off handsomely in the end - best of luck.

i appreciate your msg jingle. i won the take on tikay last monday, cashed in both the multi balls last wed'.. and that makes it worse to me, cos despite having my **** handed to me in the last few days i'm still money up. would rather go broke as it makes me think where would i be now if i wasn't shafted in every single tourney.
  • edited November 2010

Wow you WON  multi table tournament just a week ago????

How can you be running so bad then?

People (I) go months without winning an mtt.

I think mtt players expect to win all the time, don't they realise that in a 200 runner tourny, 194 people are gonna fail to make the final table? The odds of winning a 200 runner tourny is around 200/1. They are hard.

You shouldn't expect to win everytime.

If you want to win almost every time you sit down to play - learn to play cash.
