Hi Claire Will this new venture have any detrimental effect on the Sky Poker 'spend' on other projects/interests that they currently do?? (things like the SPT's, Vegas promotions etc etc) Posted by MAXALLY
Ooh, spiffy! Loving all the guests of late they've really added a lot, so getting to see some of them playing will be even better.
So is the table transportable? Any chance of it showing up as an SPT featured/final table, presuming you can move it, come to arrangements with the casino, etc?

The Table itself is movable, Danny, but it's just a regular Table. The fancy-dan bit is all the software that comes with it, which is ceiling-mounted, together with especially located & mounted cameras which can "read" the cards, & all the consoles to "run it", which need to go into a Gallery.
So in short, no, it won't be leaving the Studio.
It does not need "hole-card" cameras, or "torch" or "key-hole" cameras, it does not work like that. The special cards used have a micro-chip in them, sort of like a bar-code, & the software can thus ""see" the cards, & then that gets relayed onto the screen instantly via cool graphics.
Fancy! I haven't heard of such a thing, do the cards have RFID chips embedded? Sounds great anyway, look forward to seeing it in action. Posted by DannyMcs[/QUOTE]
Exactly that.
A "real" (human!) Dealer is used, as they are "standard cards" (with added technology built-in), not "virtual" cards. She or he has to shuffle them just as they would in a real live B & M poker game.

In Response to Re: Article in Today's Racing Post : That's a pretty cool system. How is the 'live' game show going to fit into the online poker world at Sky Poker? Posted by Machka
I am not sure it will 'fit' in as such just something new. I think Tikay mentioned in an earlier post about having online qualifiers etc. The first series will be invited guests only. As this is the first time we have produced this type of show we need to have tight control over everything that happens.

That does look good. I can't remember ever seeing it used before on any poker shows.
There's huge potential for show ideas, maybe you could a special presenters and analysts show. They all have a game and then discuss their reasoning behind their play.

"Like", anyone?
PS - 1-1.
Frankly this all sounds amazing.
Massive credit to SkyPoker for constantly trying new ideas to improve and entertain.
Only because they are scared of you. I'm not. Much.
