Abusive behaviour

edited February 2011 in Poker Chat
I have had to put up with abuse on 2 tables during the night.
I have reported the people concerned, but this tends to go on.
There shou;ld be a section where they are named and shamed and the number of warnings received .
3 strikes and they should be expelled from sky.
Could we start a petition so that sky takes a no tolerance stand.
Please support my plea!
You can tell when people are joking and when they are serious.

yeah saw a bit of this going on lately wondering if it comes and goes to a certain extent or is always there. Saw it myself on a table last night where religion (yes religion) came into it
Why the hell can't people just play the game

Its a valid point Wynne and a name and shame gallery would be ace.

At the end of the day though, Sky would take Bin-Ladens money, regardless.......

I'm with you on this one. I know its only words, but sometimes its just so over the top, plus also, my boys sometimes sit and watch me play, and you just don't need it.

Don't just ban them from the forum or chat......kick them out !!

When asked what people like about sky poker, most people say the community, so get rid of the idiots, so it stays that way.

I have posted a few times about this matter and i can tell you that Sky Poker will not allow you to name and shame.
They always hide behind the Data protection act , all they every say is make sure that you report it to C.C. but you are not allowed to know what happens to these idiots if anything at all .
You will also find that some members of the Sky forum will now start to tell you to grow up or man up or just turn your chat box off, this seems to be there answer to this problem another old one they come out with is"its only banter ".
Sky will never sort this out because it always comes down to them losing money .Over to you Sky Mods .
                                               Regards   Mick.

    Hi Mick,

On your first point [highlighted] reporting the abuse to Customer Care is indeed the correct path to take. Your second point I'm afraid there's nothing the forum moderators can do unless it happens here in this community.

    Regards, Moderator.

Here here its actually really bad on sky ive bn racially abused on several occasions because i am from scotland and i know this may seem very trivial but when youve already been called every name under the sun it does start to iritate you to the extent that you are unable to concentrate on the actual game you are playing i mean if people cant accept losing there money why are they actually playing maybe there expecting to come on and normal people just hand over our money to them.
I know that im actually ranting now but ive made at least 10 complaints against people who have been seriously out of order and its getting to the stage where im trhinking of actually going to another site. Ive been with sky poker 2 years an think the community is second to none but it does affect you being abused on numerous occasions i agree with sir simon punt them out 4 good and allow all the decent people who come on to play the game we love to play in peace i mean were not actually wanting anything that we shouldnt be getting anyway poker in a good competitive peaceful atmosphere

come on sky youve built up a lot of loyal poker players who come on daily and use the other services sky bet sky casino and a lot of us are also sky subscribers so surely you can be seen to be doing something for the sake of us abused players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! name an shame them..........

          Thank you Sky Mod 7,
I think it is about time Sky Poker took there heads out of the sand and began to deal with this very real problem.
As you have said if the abuse dosent happen on the forum then you can not do anything about it ,then it would make sence to have Mods who have control over any abuse that takes place at the tables.
This system works on other much bigger sites so can you please tell me why Sky Poker will not operate the same system on here , is it as i think it might be all down to the extra cost .
If you cannot answer this question could you please pass this thread onto the powers to be and let them answer it .
                                             Regards   Mick.

    Guys,

    A couple of points here:

    * Sky Poker DOES take accusations of abusive behaviour seriously but there is one key point I think some people are missing: the Community Forum is not the same thing as Customer Care. Forum moderators can't tackle those issues which you encounter at the tables. To help us stamp it out, you have to contact Customer Care. I can assure you they will look into it and appropriate measures taken. We do our part the best we can on the forum. Help the Customer Care guys ensure the tables are the same by reporting any instance you encounter.

    * This thread has gone off topic pretty quickly. Posts which are low-content/irrelevant just end up turning the thread into a bit of a mess, which in turn leads to them getting closed. If you want to discuss the subject, keep the posts on topic.

    Thanks all,
    Dave

       Hi Dave,
" Forum moderators cant tackle those issues " that was the reason i suggested Mods to look after the tables, it would be nice to know the offical reason why Sky Poker dont have them.I know those who work for Sky have great faith in C.C. but from this side of the fence that faith is not held in such high regard .

TO BE FAIR TO SKY !!!!
I HAVE HAD 'FALL OUTS' IN THE CHATBOX AND A SKY MOD HAS TOLD US TO BE GOOD !!!!!! IN THE CHAT BOX.

I AGREE TO NAME ABUSIVE PLAYERS AND THEY CAN HAVE 2 CHANCES TO BE GOOD OR THEY HAVE THEIR CHAT BAND,
SKY COULD EVEN ADD A MARKER TO 1ST WARNING AND 2ND WARNING PLAYERS SO WE ALL KNOW TO STEER OUR CHAT AWAY FROM THESE PLAYERS,

SIMPLES !! NO MORE AGRO FOR PLAYERS OR FOR SKY,

PLEASE NOTE:- SKY BOSSES, I WANT FREE MTT ENTRY'S FOR SORTING THIS OUT FOR YOU LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

         Hi Dave,
After reading your thread on Guidlines and Rules which you did today, have i posted the above question regarding the reason why Sky Poker dont have Mods to look after the tables in the correct area.
I know you dont like people thinking that C.C. are not doing there jobs well enough, but can i just ask you have you ever had to ring C.C. about  a problem or to report someone who is abusive,  i have had to do these things and the service i recieved was not what i expect from a company like Sky.
Please if you could just let me know if i have posted correctly  Thank You .
                                                Regards   Mick.

Moderators don't have access to the same systems as Customer Care. CC need to be able to look at the chat logs, which in turn would open up data about hand histories and so on. Moderators on here also play, so the reason for not letting them on to the same systems as CC is obvious enough.

We get as many people as we can to help out on the forum as Moderators but that's basically the end of their remit; the forum.

So mods play on the site? Can you list them so we play nicely on the tables with them so not to incur a forum ban if we stack them and giggle slightly in the chat box. Also, are they all volunteer mods/chosen mods and do they get paid in kind ie free tourny entries etc etc?

I hereby put me and neildown forward as part time mods for all areas that are not GPC. :)

        Hi again Dave,
I think you are missing the point of my question, why dont Sky have Mods who just look after the tables as other sites do.
I am not asking for the forum Mods to do 2 jobs , and my point about C.C.in my view still stands or maybe i was just very unlucky to have spoken to people at C.C. who were having a bad day at the office.
                                                         Regards   Mick.

Why should people put up with abuse?
Most people wouldn't put up with it in everyday life so why should they while playing a game they enjoy online?
People giving out this abuse should realise they are now playing poker on an 18+ site not on facebook anymore :)
